Has anyone heard about this?

Apparently there are some Comic Book Guys who are really upset that Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson) has been made the most powerful superhero in the universe whereas in the comic books she is a bit minor and weak (I hadn't heard of her before).

Something like that anyway.

Brie is basically saying 'get over it, losers' www.theguardian.com/film/2019/feb/21/captain-marvel-why-sexist-attempts-at-sabotage-will-fail

Like the female Ghostbusters reboot it's being downvoted on movie sites by butthurt men

I didn’t watch the female ghostbusters for ages because I believed the huge amount of online chatter that it was a pile of shite. I now realise that ‘fans’ are full of shit and share more with flat earthers than people who just want to enjoy some high budget, low brow entertainment with relatively rounded female characters in it.

Had to stop watching dr who because of Bradley Walsh. It broke the 4th wall too much and couldn’t take a time travelling alien tv show for kids seriously anymore!

I think it depends on which continuity one follows. She did get her arse handed to her by Rouge and ended up on a coma.

I didn't pay any attention to the online chatter about Ghostbusters, but I will admit I am entirely biased against any remake that doesnt heavily feature my one true love, Sigourney Weaver. Hamstrung from the start, I'm afraid.

I really enjoyed ghost busters but I'm a touch too young to be loyal and I have a girl crush on Kate McKinnon and a major crush on Chris Hensworth

I am excited for this and so is my 13yo comic fan daughter. I love all the superhero films ATM.

Spoiler alert a woman invented science fiction! Which comic books stories mostly are...

I can claim to be something of a comics expert, and there's no doubt that Captain Marvel is one of the most important Avengers in the comics in recent years - one example is that she was the main protagonist of the 'Civil War II' storyline alongside Iron Man.

Weird that her movie is coming out very close to the Shazam movie, who as a pp said, also used to be Captain Marvel.
