And Britain isn't one of them. (Have a guess before you click.)

Sweden and Denmark are in the top 6.

U.K. was among the next 9 which scored 97.5. - I can't access the data underlying the report on my iPad so can't get the detail.

The US is on 83.75 which really is shameful.

The UK scored 100 in all of the 8 categories measured apart from "having children" where it scored 80.

The questions looked at for "having children" were:

Is there paid leave of at least 14 weeks available to women?

Does the government pay 100% of maternity leave benefits, or parental leave benefits (where maternity leave is unavailable)?

Is there paid paternity leave?

Is there paid parental leave?

Is dismissal of pregnant workers prohibited?

But these equal rights include prohibition of gender discrimination in the workplace, which then means there are no exceptions in the relevant equality acts in various countries.

E.g. in Denmark you cannot expect to get only female healthcare providers for smear tests, breast screenings and so on.

Basically, there are no sex based protections.
