The article was about a fat rat that got stuck in a grate. The male presenter likened it to when ' you think you're a size 10 but you're really a 14'. Am I wrong to be offended that he chose to use Women’s sizes when making fat jokes, or am I just spending too much time on here.
Which 'small ' things are you noticing after being awoken by FWR?

I was talking to a teacher today, the head of the junior school. She was talking about the Year 4s and said they had a good cohort of bossy Year 4 girls in the class. Her meaning was positive but I still had to zip the urge to ask her whether she'd describe boys as bossy.

She also talked about how they mix up the sports and some of the girls are keen on rugby and football but he boys won't play netball unless they have to. I noticed how even at that age, girls playing boys' games (if there is such a thing as boys' games) is seen as neutral or an "upgrade" but boys see girls' games as a "downgrade".

It's so silly, it's not as if the boys play basketball, you'd think netball would be fun! A bit depressing really.

Jam, no, you're not wrong to be offended. The 'joke' relies on the trope that all women are obsessed with being thin and pretend to be a smaller size than they are. It's offensive sex-stereotyping. The accumulation of the 'small things' is as toxic as the big things - maybe more so because they go under the radar and you risk being told you're humourless or obsessive if you object to them.

Thanks Lettera, I thought I could expect more from BBC news, but I guess I'm still learning about them..
