Browsing through the UK papers before going to bed I saw the above headline in the Daily Mirror and was pleasantly surprised to read 8 very sensible suggestions for keeping your vagina healthy. Must remember to drink more water, but otherwise I think I'm good.

Much better advice for women than the likes of this from Gwyneth Paltrow ...

Why is it tagged as "weird news" though? Confused

PRoseLegend · 14/02/2019 12:18

Well, I mean, a lot of it is just basic good advice.
As someone who got frequent UTIs in the first year of marriage, peeing after sex is definitely my golden rule.
Also drinking lots of water is important for our whole body.
And pelvic floor exercises are especially important after childbirth.
But is this really news?

It isn't news but why should you assume every women knows these facts? This particularly the advice about not shaving- given the amount of posters on MN who think it is cleaner to shave.

And given the number of feminine washing products on the market her advice about their being unnecessary may be news to some.

Yes I agree the advice is good.

A vagina is different from a vulva. A vagina is self cleansing all of the time, despite the hormonal status of a female.

Peeing after sex has nothing whatsoever to do with the vagina. It's to keep the urethra healthy. Men have more problems with their urethra than women.
