The more I think about this, the more pissed off I get. What the fuck? The picture is of a woman at full term. And now the norm is apparently to make sure you keep up your expensive waxing ritual until you go into labour. Welcome to the new world where even your dorky school textbook teaches you about grooming expectations.

I won’t even go into the abuse Dr Victoria Bateman, the naked Brexit woman, got for daring to display natural pubic hair. Oh the horror.

Of course, what they say and what they do may differ but they were certainly brave enough to tell me what's what

There’s no way my teen DD would truly be honest with her teacher about something like that. Neither would I at her age. It’s also impossible to know just how much your decisions are affected by socialisation.

A brazillian is apparently a very atypical style across all age groups www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/body/news/a42147/half-young-women-uk-removing-all-pubic-hair/

As someone who has contributed to a published textbook for A level teaching... lots gets through without ‘checking’ especially where it’s an update of an older issue. I have to say I wouldn’t even have noticed! Ooops!

To be fair to the poster who said who gets waxed heavily pregnant- I did! I had major waxing ‘down there’ before I had my kids each time. I was warned birth can be messy and less hair helps with dealing with stitches etc they were right!

Now I've seen the picture, it's really bad.

Weird and gross. Biology text books should at least be correct. What next? Pubic hair dyed blue? Piercings? Inner labia that have been removed?

I just looked at an old biology textbook of mine. The diagrams of the external sex organs for both female and male are without hair. The diagram of the uterus is just internal so shows uterus and the top half of the vagina as a cross section.

Suffice to say that textbook content has changed significantly Grin (originally published in 2001)

At the risk of being the "What about the men?" poster, what does the naked male figure in the book look like? Full back, sack and crack wax, or naturally hirsute?
