So the all-gender bathroom makes no-one happy?
And the nightclub ones cater to merpeople and centaurs? Grin
I guess it makes it easier for me to accompany DS (SN) as he gets older but sucks for everyone else.

origamiunicorn · 08/02/2019 07:20

I don't like them. If I'm going to a bar or a nightclub I do not want to be sharing toilets with men. I know it sounds weird but girls loos are our "safe space" on a night out, where we can put makeup on, sort ourselves out and God forbid pee in private. I went to a nightclub in Manchester recently and the wash basin area was shared and that was bad enough, you just want to get out of there as soon as possible.

Saying that, on the other hand I've seen men visibly dejected when they flounce to the front of the queue and then realise they have to queue like women have for the last century, that does make me giggle, welcome to our world Grin

I'm Belgium my most common experience is a separate loo but a shared sink. Works fine for me / them.
I don't like the individual "unisex" loos here. Water from the tiny sink gets all over the place and you just have to hope it's that, not piss, all over the loo.

I'm a cleaner and I'm female. A little off topic but if I realised there were women rinsing their moo cups in the sinks I have to clean I would've complained sooner. That's disgusting.
Maybe this goes some way to explaining why the men's loos are always cleaner
Anyway, I'm most toilets I've been in (not cleaning) there will be a sign saying a male attendant is there. I just always assume a bloke could be in there and I've definitely used the men's before due to lack of queues.

*moon cups.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 08/02/2019 08:04

We had a ‘womens’ loo in one office I worked in (religious owners). It was quite nice - a basket of tampons, good mirror, perfumes...

Someone was sneaking into the loo in the evenings and pooing in the bin (like a tall kitchen bin with a flip lid. God knows how or why.

Odds are it was a male employee (90% male and the women tended to be part time or leave on time to pick up children).

MamaDane · 08/02/2019 08:06

Yeah, I agree that using the sink to rinse moon cups is pretty gross. Do that at home honestly. Women's toilets are nasty enough as it is with blood stains on the seats.

HappyPunky · 08/02/2019 08:16

If it happens where I live I'll be using the men's because I'm dressed like them and it will feel safer because any men that want to harrass women will use the ladies.

Peacocks have decent changing rooms in the ones I've been in. I won't be joining any gyms and will just exercise at home.

CowJumping · 08/02/2019 08:39

The problem is incomplete partition doors and shared sink areas.

The problem is urinals. We need to rip them all out.

Oh, and male violence towards feminine men.

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 08/02/2019 09:18

I think having individual unisex toilets is in general a good thing.

FlyingOink · 08/02/2019 09:22

the vast majority of people sex-identify rather than gender-identify
That's it in a nutshell.

StarlightLady · 09/02/2019 04:24

Some men wee on the floor and miss the pot. Problem!
