So sad that the child couldnt like ballet as a man.

Imagine billy Elliot filmed now....

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 02/02/2019 17:40

Billy's friend would definitely have been in the theatre yelling about pronouns at the end...

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 02/02/2019 17:43

Anyone else getting sidebar ads for BalletBoyz?

TooMinty · 02/02/2019 18:33

I was more thinking along the lines that there won't be anyone left to do the male parts if every boy who likes to dance is transitioned to female because gender stereotypes say dancing is feminine so a boy who likes dancing must really be a girl...

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 02/02/2019 19:00

Fekko, would the trocks allow a transman or a female NB to join even if they self ID as gay men? I think we know the answer...

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 02/02/2019 19:11

👧 pretending to be 👦 pretending to be 👧 🤯

I thought being MTF trans was about having a 'ladies brain trapped in a man's body'. A glitch that needs correcting. So surely identical twins would both have the same 'girl brain' given they have identical genetic make up?

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 02/02/2019 19:24

Fekko 🤣🤣🤣

Beer it's those pesky thetans again...

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 02/02/2019 19:26

Actually, that's basically the plot of Shakespeare in Love isn't it?

TooMinty · 02/02/2019 21:54

I do love Blur but Pulp were the winners for me.

I just took a look at the photo of the story above. The first thing that really struck me is their arms - very sinewy -and the second thing wasa their ribs showing through the leotard. The female body just has more body fat and the female form is more 'rounded' and softer looking. So no, unless in full costume I wouldn't be sure (i think the face is of a beautiful male or 'handsome' woman').

For me it was Nora's legs.... they are too muscly/sinewy to be a female's legs. Obviously, female athletes have developed muscles and minimal body fat compared to non-athletic females... however they still clearly look female.. Nora's legs look like athletic male legs to me.

I am an identical twin so articles featuring twins tend to catch my eye, like the one posted here. I came across the Independent article about the twin girls who both transitioned to boys a while ago. Though they say they both felt uncomfortable as girls their physical change didn't begin until they were 18, which at least gave them time to go through puberty.

This extract is significant I think:

As children, the twins often dressed in boy clothing and felt attraction towards female classmates. But their strict upbringing and religious schooling kept them from expressing their true feelings

The article in the Washington Post describes adopted twin boys, one of whom felt as if they were a girl from an early age. There are things in that article I found exasperating, such as this:

And in the years when Wayne was dodging and withdrawing, Kelly Maines was largely on her own, searching for answers that would explain the enigma of a little boy who was drawn to tutus and princess costumes, a boy who was waiting, he said, for his penis to fall off. “Transgender” had not been in Kelly’s vocabulary, but once it was, it seemed to describe Wyatt more accurately than “gay” or “transsexual,” additional words Kelly discovered when she queried the Internet, asking for example, about “boys who like girls’ toys.

Kelly and Wayne are the parents.

The article on the lifesite news website discusses gender dysphoria from a critical viewpoint. It noted that the idea of both twins wanting to transition would be unusual, which is why I put on the link to the Independent article.

I can't help thinking that in both sets of twins there could have been other outcomes which didn't lead to medical or surgical intervention, though I daresay the twins themselves would disagree. All in all I remain perplexed by the whole issue of gender dysphoria, but I do feel that those doctors who would keep a watching brief until after puberty should be supported.

I think the twin girls who wanted to be boys would have grown up as Lesbians in a more liberal atmosphere.
