I have heard from WEP insiders that Sophie is fully gender critical so this can't be a good move for feminism and the party Sad

The writing was on the wall for WEP when they ditched Heather Brunskell-Evans with scant regard for due process

yes, it was the secrecy and the lack of regard for due process that really rang alarm bells over the HBE events.

It made it very clear that WEP knew they were misbehaving but were doing it anyway

Sophie Walker should have stood down when she mishandled conference and had to go on gardening leave.

Sorry, what do you believe Sophie Walker mishandled at conference? As a member who attended, she was tremendous at conference.

Sophie took personal leave, not gardening leave which has a specific meaning when someone is leaving a company. I am not aware of any indication that she ‘had’ to take that leave for anything other than her own personal reasons.

I'd like to hear more about what was mishandled at conference - I have my issues with WEP, but this is news to me.

I also thought she took some leave because she was probably utterly exhausted and just needed a break, quite understandably. I don't think practicing self care should be viewed as a negative thing.
