One year ago I came to this board for the first time and I haven't left since.

Ten years ago I read women's literature at university and thought I had a basic understanding of feminism. I didn't think much beyond 'women have it much better than before'.

Today I am more aware of women's issues and challenges that face us.

Next year I am going to read even more and I might say more too!

You guys rock! GinStar

This time last year I thought I could go about my merry little lesbian way without anybody insisting I suck their cock, well apart from the usual knobheads. Oh what a 12 months it has been.

This time last year I liked Twitter.
Now I want it to die.

I found this board about 3 years ago. It's been awesome to see the explosion. Almost too fast moving now though. Which is great; I don't post as much as there's little else to be said. After I got up to speed I felt like I was having to repeat a lot of things. Now I don't :)

Great thread! This time last year I couldn’t even really find the words to explain what I felt, why I feel it, what it means. FWR is a political education in both the issues themselves and in being able to express them. Thank you to the posters on here! Flowers

It's been just over a year for me. I've always been a feminist and involved in feminist issues, but this has been a real shock to me.
I knew we had a problem with sexism and misogyny, but this has really brought home just how ingrained it is.

I've only been on here a few months, always had gender critical inklings without really knowing that was a thing. Coming on here has been so informative, and it's helped me to resolve some feelings I had about an ex who is now a trans woman - it was their trans friends' unhinged and narcissistic comments on Facebook that shocked me and prompted me to try to figure out what the hell is going on. Once I experience a TRA pile on via Twitter without saying anything I believe to be offensive, I realised how twisted and misogynistic all this pure unthinking tribalism is. I'm grateful to the women on here for doing a public service, but I do find it depressing at times to consider how this woman hatred under the guise of woke terminology has been allowed to carry on. I'm currently trying to figure out how to move forwards knowing what I now know without being sucked into an extremely dark and pessimistic mindset. Just dealing with the initial shock I suppose, but I'm glad to have found so many intelligent women here.
