Beautifully put, LiverpoolReSisters. I wish I could have been there, but I had to pull out this morning as I'm not well enough to travel.

SophoclesTheFox · 30/11/2018 21:58

It was a fab evening! Sorry I couldn’t hang round for the pub. Powerful speakers, great crowd, brilliant all round Grin

I’m someone else who had to pass up the after chat and nip off after the meeting ended. I had biscuits and everything in my bag because I’d baked them for the Westminster Mags. In anticipation of going along this afternoon but that proved unnecessary.

Sandy Draws Badly is live-cartooning it on twitter as well

OMG, Baileys coffee is available in a can!?! I like how Sandy always gets the salient points across in her cartoons. Grin

On the way home, I saw some verbal exchanges between couples to the point where I badly wished that I had some of the Freedom Programme cards to slip into the women's pockets. I'd be rubbish at doing it unobtrusively and there's always concern about escalating the disagreement but one of the squabbles was bad enough I was about to ask the couple to step away from the edge of the platform when the woman must have sensed the same and moved to the wall as the train came in. I visually checked in with her to see if she was OK and she nodded slightly so I boarded the train.

It felt like a living example of what several of the speakers had addressed during the meeting.

The freedom programme speaker was incredible. Moving, invested, highly informative, and the lightest of touches, which is extraordinary under the circumstances.

I did not manage to take my eyes of her in order to take a picture.

What a day! So happy for everyone involved.

And there is a WPUK meeting too, next week. Smile

Chandlersthirdnipple · 01/12/2018 00:19

I was there. Loved it! Bring on the next event!

doctorbarbie · 01/12/2018 00:30

What an amazing evening. Thank you to LAWS for putting it on.

Clambering · 01/12/2018 00:43

I've just got home. It was inspiring. So brilliant to hear all those excellent speakers. I went on my own but found a really interesting group of women to talk to at the pub. Thanks so much to the organisers, it's made me want another meeting very soon.

keeponspinning · 01/12/2018 01:22

I was there and we agreed a code word to prove it so here it is: flamingo.

Writersblock2 · 01/12/2018 07:25

Thank you everyone who attended. We still can’t quite believe how amazing our speakers were and how brilliant the venue was. What a fabulous evening. We really hope you will all support us as we move forward.

heresyandwitchcraft · 01/12/2018 08:01

Huge thanks to LAWS for organizing an amazing event! Flowers

ContessaHallelujahSparklehorse · 01/12/2018 08:06

Looks like it was a fab evening - wish I could have been there!

arranbubonicplague · 01/12/2018 08:18

I was on my own - tho' I can see the back of my head in a Twitter photo :)

I can not produce a code word as I didn't really manage to chat to anyone.

Did Linda and Venice reveal any more about what had happened - I'd been hoping they'd be invited to give an account but given there wasn't enough time for a Q&A it was understandable it didn't happen.

Macareaux · 01/12/2018 08:28

It was a fantastic evening. Well done to everyone who organised and spoke.

tarziew · 01/12/2018 08:38

Does anyone know when the next London WPUK meeting is?

arranbubonicplague · 01/12/2018 08:47

next London WPUK meeting is?

The next one is Reading on Dec. 4 but I don't know about the next one in London as opposed to family near.

Voice0fReason · 01/12/2018 11:52

The speakers last night were outstanding.
Julie B and the lady from the Freedom Programme were riveting.

NotAnotherFeckingMuftiDay · 01/12/2018 11:58

Thank you to LAWS. Hope you are recovering. Brew
It was a fantastic evening with brillant speakers. My head is still buzzing.
It was also great to meet so many wonderful women at Westminster magistrates court and spend the day in the pub with them.Smile

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 01/12/2018 15:50

It was brilliant. So much food for thought. Still buzzing. And lovely to meet so many Mumsnetters, as well as other women I've met before.

I told Anne Ruzylo that it was an honour just to see her and she said she recognized me from a previous event. I was so chuffed.

I missed a lot of people though. Was knackered so didn't stay for as long as I have done after other meetings. I wish I was 40 and could stand around in pubs till kicking out time.

DialsMavis · 01/12/2018 16:25

I had a great time but didn't make it to pub as my friend needed to get back
