Cambridge college converting loos to gender neutral: info needed

A friend says that the Cambridge college where she is a fellow is looking at converting some of the loos to gender neutral - only the ones without urinals, apparently, so just the women's loos Hmm She's not happy about this and would like to know what the legal position is on the configuration of 'gender neutral' loos: cubicle walls and doors have to be floor to ceiling, I think, but not sure about anything else. Could someone point me in the right direction for the info?

Update on this for anyone interested.

After initially changing the library loos to 'gender neutral' (i.e. mixed sex) by just changing the signage and saying that anyone bothered about this could use the disabled loo instead Hmm, the people responsible were encouraged to have rethink by one or more of the fellows and, I think, the library staff. The result was that they (the people responsible) apparently spent some time looking at WPUK and other sources of information. As a result they are now converting all the toilets into self-contained cubicles with floor to ceiling walls and sinks. The communal sinks are being taken out, and the doors to the communal areas are being removed, so what were two loos with cubicles are now going to be, in effect, corridors to several individual loos with proper walls and doors. My friend is very pleased, as are the (almost all female) library staff.

Thank you to everyone who gave advice!

That sounds OK, I'm happy to go in self contained cubicles, just like accessible toilets but smaller for those not needing the extra space. I think having a sink in the cubicle is really important for menstruating women and girls.
