Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

You know what? I am still passed off with the NSPCC over their MN webchat!

All this talk of Comic Relief and CiN is reminding me of the appalling show put on by the NSPCC a few months ago! I am referring to the web chat in which they refused to participate in after concerned parents didn't ask the right questions.

I mean, how dare they? They invited Mumsnetters to ask questions, didn't like the questions asked, so ran off! As far as I can see, they've yet to make a comment on this either!

So yeah, just wanted to remind everyone that the NSPCC are woke as fuck, in the wrong direction.

@hipsterfun

Great. I look forward to their videos. I might send them an email asking when they will be released...

Weren’t they going to do MN some video content? What happened to that?

They went to Nethuns with their video.

This is what was posted by MN on the original thread.

Thanks for waiting; we've been thinking about what to do.

The focus of this Facebook Live was intended to be the NSPCC's Speak out. Stay safe and PANTS campaign and how to speak to children about keeping safe. Because the questions here are so focused on gender identity, the feeling is that the NSPCC campaign itself and the NSPCC's specific safety messages are unlikely to get much of an airing. As a result we came to the decision not to run the stream live on Facebook, although we will be recording some content with the NSPCC on the original topic which should go live either later today or tomorrow.

Hmm
TrashyTerf · 17/11/2018 20:21

Did the content ever go live? I don't remember it.

I missed the whole webchat thing. I'm still furious because if the NSPCC aren't the people picking up potential safeguarding issues that may pose a threat to vulnerable children and raising hell about it then what the fuck are they for?

hipsterfun · 17/11/2018 20:57

Trashy, the post before mine says they took their video to Netmums. That’ll learn us, eh?

Voice0fReason · 17/11/2018 21:26

I have no faith in the NSPCC any more. They do seem to have forgotten that their purpose is to protect children.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 17/11/2018 21:55

I nominate Lang to be CEO of the new child protection charity that clearly needs setting up and that will receive the donations I might otherwise have made to the nspcc

JoggerBottom · 18/11/2018 07:46

Hipsterfun, was that the debate with Kelly Malone?

hipsterfun · 18/11/2018 08:40

It was definitely Sarah Ditum, not sure who else.

Not me! I just run this stuff past people I know who work in child protection and plagiarise what they tell me!
