Transphobia Discriminatory or prejudiced actions or ideas related to someone’s actual or perceived gender identity or gender expression. Taken from lgbti incision bumff. So actually me saying I agree and support that people can act or dress any way they want (and if they want to say it's because of their gender or perceived gender then sure, I don't believe in gender per se but whatever, irrelevant as I'll still support them) but also saying that they can't change sex (as this is separate from their gender), I.e. from a man xy to a woman xx is, according to SG, not transphobic. And that I support the protection of sex based characteristics. Or does it mean that because trans people have the idea that their actions relating to their gender (be it how they dress, change their body) can somehow defy science and change their sex, then it's transphobic unless I go along with their delusions.

I think I've read that you have to report your own post and ask MNHQ to edit the title

This is an interesting question, and why I think the trans agenda gains traction with people on face value.

Because gender describes the social understanding of what is masculine and feminine and most progressive people think it is fine for men and women to present how they wish.

Whereas what is happening is that gender is increasingly being used as synonymous with or instead of sex. Gender neutral bathrooms, for example - I do not use a female bathroom/changing room/support service in public because I am wearing a dress and make up or whatever else is socially read as feminine gender, I use it because I am a female person.

The discrimination, assault and abuse which women face is on account of their sex, not their gender. It is certainly tied up with ideas of women being lesser, imperfect versions of men which are social or cultural (Eve made from Adam’s ribs, for example), but that in itself comes from the fact that women (at a population level) are biologically different and bear children.
