What can one do...? (TRA related)

I was going to ask 'what can I do?' but that made it sound like i had a specific situation that i needed help with, as opposed to just a general query wondering how everyday women (like me) can stand up for women's rights and status in the current climate?

I'm reading everyithing i can and opening conversations with people i know, but i read things like a post on another thread saying that children in a primary school were being taught that most but not all boys have penises and most but not all girls have vulvas and vaginas - information being pushed into PSHE from a charitable organisation without reference to, you know, actual science and wondered how we/one can counter such attacks on womanhood (wow that sounds dramatic. Can't think of another way to phrase it though).

Could you, for instance petition a school? How about doing it in advance of any such teaching to prevent such misinformation being spread?

For soneone only newly and cautiously entering this cause (or any cause really) what's a small but useful thing to be getting on with...? I suppose i just want to not feel like I'm useless and helpless

You could certainly write to the school and ask them what training materials they are using.

Hold strong.

I feel your frustration with the recent rewording if sex education.

I would personally petition to have it completely rewritten-

Females (women and transmen) have these sets of genitalia and these chromosomes.

Males (men and transwomen) have these sets of genitalia and these chromosomes.

Some humans have DSD. Some humans take hormones and have surgery to change the appearance of their genitalia and secondary sex characteristics.
Humans can't change sex.

You can also write your your MP about the misinformation being spread around schools by organisations such as Stonewall, Mermaids etc, and just keep talking.

Writing to your MP would be a really good thing to do.

Focus on one aspect (one that's personal to you, or that especially interests you) and ask for an appointment to discuss it further with them.

In person they can be a little more open about what they think, and you can gently challenge them to think a bit more, if need be.

I was scared when someone suggested I do this, but I've been (twice) now and it was really okay! You don't need to be an expert, just a normal person raising concerns. Most MPs still don't know much about this.

Have you looked at the consultation about PSHE/RSE in schools and filled it out?
