News release from the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (into CSA in Westminster) this morning:

"We will also examine the case of David Challenor and how he was able to continue being a political agent for his daughter Aimee who was a green party member, despite facing serious allegations of child sexual abuse for which he was later convicted and is now serving 22 years for"

I cant help thinking it would be better done by a more efficient agency

Couldn't agree more, @Upstart

The Committee will probably focus on the delays in bringing Challoner to justice only. They will conclude that it couldn't be helped because the Criminal Justice system is in crisis. They will recommend in their Final Report (in five years time or more) that the Government should do something about delays.

I won't be holding my breath.

Is Aimee not a Lib Dem now?

ImmortalityMyDarlings · 30/10/2018 17:22

IICSA reports and interim recommendations are fairly quick AFAIK. Nottinghamshire just finished and the report will be out next summer.

Can anyone explain this tweet for me?

AspieAndProud · 30/10/2018 19:15

Someone on Twitter should ask LibDemLBQT or whatever they are called to comment.

Lisa muggeridge just did a new video on this

Sadly, I think this probably means that there is a lot worse to be discovered about this horrific man (David). Sad

Datun · 30/10/2018 22:41

Is it normal for bodies like this to announce their intentions on Twitter?

TrashyTerf · 30/10/2018 23:09

I agree @Datun. Their tweet seems a bit unprofessional and unnecessary.

SunsetBeetch · 31/10/2018 11:53

That's my worry, Trashy

LizzieSiddal · 31/10/2018 14:52

Does anyone know why the inquiry have decided to investigate him? Would an agency have flagged this case to them?

QuietContraryMary · 31/10/2018 15:24

Melamin: the second image there is from the lawyer for Esther Baker. Esther Baker has made accusations against John Hemming, that I'm not sure if we can reproduce here, but are easily Googlable.

Esther's point appears to be that the investigation has very easily extended itself to Aimee/David, as against her own struggle.

Note that John Hemming, I believe banned from Mumsnet, spent all his time campaigning for the likes of David Challenor (and possibly including David Challenor?) to be reunited with their kids. He was right at the head of the 'social services are evil baby snatchers' crowd, whereas as we've seen the reality is that David/Tina Challenor should never have been allowed near a child including their own, and the court supported by rhetoric from the likes of Hemming, should never have returned any children to their tender mercies, as they did in 2010, not long before David Challenor raped a girl in his attic dressed as a transgender adult baby.

Anyway do feel free to google 'john Hemming esther baker'.

I'm not sure to what extent the 'social services are evil child snatchers crew' are in general themselves rapist paedophiles/vile child abusers/neglecters, or merely useful idiots, but the link between the anti-social-services rhetoric and the rape & torture of children is here a completed circle.

Melamin · 31/10/2018 15:38

Thank you - I looked up who was being represented and was wondering why the lawyer would be so concerned about adding DC. Your explanation also makes more sense of why they are including him.

A lot of afternoon googling to be done.

Some more background

The David Challenor case was very very creepy. The poor girl. There is also a lot that is unexplained including why it took so long to come to court, why the BBC failed to cover it initially, the scouts, the election agent role, etc.

Still alls well that ends well. Aimee seems to have found her place in the LibDems, to complement her Stonewall role.

Binglebong · 16/11/2018 19:28

I'm bumping this as I missed it originally and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Important development.
