Apologies if this question has been posted before, but I couldn't find it.
With Scotland having its own consultation - and it seems to be a bit further ahead with self id than the rest of the UK - I just wondered whether self id will be a matter for Westminster to decide for the UK as a whole, or for each country to decide in its devolved parliament/assembly?
If so, we might end up in a very strange place where up in Scotland self id is accepted but across the border a trans woman is still a man without a GRC. My head hurts just thinking about the practicalities.
Added to this, with Stormont still dissolved, would this just be one of the areas where it's put on hold until a government is formed there eventually?
I remember back under Blair he only got some controversial England & Wales specific legislation passed because he got the Scottish MPs to vote on it, despite it not affecting Scotland. Does this still happen? I remember the outcry but then it all seemed to die down.
