The hugely lucrative business of transgenderism

Prior to the appointment of Ruth Hunt as CEO of Stonewall in February 2014, Stonewall was an LGB charity. Not LGB, LGBT.

During the FY 2014, during which Stonewall introduced 'T', their income grew 24% (previous years growth were only around 5%). Stonewall's income grew from £4.3m between 2014 and 2016. Executive staff benefits increased from £204k to £312k between 2015 and 2017.

As part of 'going trans', one of Ruth Hunt's first acts was to embrace Aimee Challenor, whom she appointed to Stonewall's new trans advisory panel: twitter.com/stonewalluk/status/497291683550474242

As a charity functioning as a income-generating business, Stonewall needs to grow its revenue, and increasing the size and scope of 'transgender' will allow it to continue to increase its income and pay more executive benefits.

Sticking with its original LGB brief saw income stagnate, but by going T, Stonewall has received millions of pounds in extra cash.

All the lovely consultancy money - training on diversity and inclusion for corporate entities, schools, local govt and law enforcement.

I agree with previous posters who have raised this - if self-ID wins the day the next big argument will be surrogacy. Reducing women to 'uterus havers'.

The money in elective cosmetic surgery must be soaring too (to clarify, I don’t mean the surgeries deemed necessary treatments under NHS guidelines, I mean the other stuff, breast augmentation, moving the hairline, ‘facial feminisation surgeries’ and whatnot).

Needmoresleep · 22/10/2018 21:21

There was an article in today's Evening Standard about fertility clinics offering cut price egg freezing.

I assume they hope the money is made on storage and implantation.

And thinking ahead...womb implantation....

Grant-making bodies (eg HM government Department of Education, Scottish government, Children in Need) provide the funds for helplines, resource packs, projects and organisations working with trans children

SPOFS · 22/10/2018 23:51

It's terrifying. Trans people deserve so much better than this.

The problem with blockers, hormones, and surgery is that it's a lifelong commitment. Today's trans children will be in debt for life.

IdaBWells · 22/10/2018 23:54

It’s amazing that Stonewall only embraced trans in 2014 and look at the explosion of publicity. Well it’s so important that they have an organization like Stonewall to give them credibility.

Although unfortunately (fortunately) what is happening is by uncritically embracing trans activism and an ideology which is a threat to women and children the cracks are starting to show. They have an enormous budget of millions and yet just with grass roots activism our message is getting out there and is seen as a just as powerful threat because it is based on OBJECTIVE REALITY.

Needmoresleep · 22/10/2018 23:56

Lifelong drugs are going to cost the NHS a fortune. And surgeries. There is every reason to work with individuals so that everyone is sure this is the right course of action. We will be paying for it..and in a different way so will someone who changes their mind.

DeRigueurMortis · 22/10/2018 23:56

As ever.....follow the money...

IdaBWells · 22/10/2018 23:57

Is it also true that the government’s newly created/recreated body for equality, women and children or some such, decided it’s first priority was trans people? Back a couple of years?

Turph · 23/10/2018 01:33

They have an enormous budget of millions and yet just with grass roots activism our message is getting out there
Yes, because they have millions of pounds and we have millions of people. A referendum tomorrow would be 90%+ in our favour. It's just about being heard.

MustBeDreaming · 23/10/2018 01:58

I keep seeing accusations on twitter that radical feminist groups are funded by US extreme right Trump supporters (never with any convincing evidence included!) Yet there's published proof of organisations like Stonewall rolling in cash! If anyone's well funded, it's their side and not ours.

I saw this fundraiser today to buy cake for trans rights organisations: twitter.com/s_golightley/status/1054353384814338048?s=20 - and they accuse us of being wasteful having crowd funding to buy billboards to advertise our campaigns!

I am old enough to have marched and gone to conferences when it was GLF and CHE

historically the old school Transsexuals kept themselves to themselves , if anyone phoned the gay switchboard in the 1970,s, we put them in touch with London Friend , or whatever city Friend was nearest , then in the 1980,s I think it was SHAFT ?

any Cross Dressers we pointed them in the direction of The Beaumont Society which was for straight men

as Transsexuals were straight they didn't want anything to do with us Lesbians and gays ( I may be wrong ? but I tend to think they had to be straight to receive treatment ? ) although a couple marched with us on various demonstrations in solidarity

there were specific clubs Transsexuals went to , most straight people respected the old school lot , most blended in and got on with their lives

LGF became LGTF , and so did Stonewall

but why are straight women interested in all this ?

I have been spat on by straight people for being a lesbian in the past for holding hands with my girlfriends

had crap at school from girls who didn't want to get in the showers with me or my girlfriend (in case they caught it ha ha )

one girl did all that to us , totally forgot about her until Birmingham Pride a few years ago, she was proudly swinging a rainbow flag , marching with her gay son !

and yes I reminded her the misery she brought to my teenage life !

IdaBWells · 23/10/2018 06:08

Good for you FoxyLiz. Although I have obviously interacted with lesbians throughout my life (my husband’s boss was lesbian) I have never had a close friend who was lesbian and so I have been somewhat clueless (or oblivious) about issues that were priorities for lesbians, other than those that were priorities for all women.

However, once I found out about the Cotton Ceiling bullshit and lesbians being bullied out of their own organizations, and lesbians not being “allowed” to self-define as homosexual I was completely incensed. Raging and furious. I have explained a number of times to people what happened at the London Pride March and that it wasn’t a bunch of transphobes but 11 lesbians defended their rights. These issues I think are building so much solidarity among women.

TransposersArePosers · 23/10/2018 06:31

Placemats posted a stark comment on a thread yesterday which has really sums it up for me

"Oh and we are meant to believe that children will suffer to such an extent regarding gender dysphoria that they need medical attention.

However, on the other hand, an adult doesn't need to change anything."

There was a thread previously about 'follow the money' and people investing in pharmaceutical companies who are developing or have already got the drugs which will be needed to be taken long term have plenty of money and therefore power to influence policies their way. So bunging a bit towards Stonewall is probably small change, but has a big effect.

It also struck me yesterday (slightly off topic) that if a teenaged or younger child asked to be sterlised there is no way that that would be allowed or acceptable. And yet there seems to be a push to make it appear that cross sex hormones / puberty blockers are harmless and reversible whereas it is already known that this is not the case.

Dragon3 · 23/10/2018 06:59

foxyliz out of interest, how did the former bully respond when you reminded her at pride?

I agree Ida. The blatant homophobia of erasing lesbians is building solidarity amongst women. I don't quite know what to do to support them. In the past I might have made a donation to Stonewall but won't do that now.

IdaBWells · 23/10/2018 07:11

Yep Dragon3 I was going to add to my post that I also would like to financially support a lesbian organization but don’t know any that haven’t been hijacked by the trans agenda. FoxyLiz do you know of any that women could safely donate to?

Lesbians are very much at the sharp end of all this crap, how they are treated reveals what we can all expect because the boundaries to their organizations have been dismantled and lo and behold, they have been colonized. Even the word lesbian is up for grabs. It is a microcosm of how we can expect all women’s spaces and rights to be treated if self ID becomes a reality. I think this really needs to be brought to the attention of a TImes journalist or similar.
