My blood pressure is sky high watching this.

They are covering the end of the consultation process with a panel of entirely transgender people: Fae, IW, and a trans man. There was a weak film with a "rad fem" and a transwoman.

There's no recognition of the importance of biological difference at all. No recognition that the proposed legislation means females would not be able to guarantee a female hcp or a female single-sex ward.

Hang on - someone is seriously trying to claim that the decision to house KW in the female estate as requested by KW was a ploy to make TW look bad?

How does that work then? Where do TRAs think that KW should have been housed?

If TWAW, and self-ID is all that is needed to become part of this group, then KW should of course have been put in the women's estate. And no-one should have been concerned about KW's lady dick, because TW behave like women and don't do mean and nasty things.

Unless, of course, TRAs don't believe that KW is indeed a TW and should therefore not have been housed in the female estate. It would be helpful to know on what basis they would judge that KW is not trans - doesn't look the part? Let down the sisterhood? Something else?

But if the prison service had placed KW in the male estate from the outset, would there have been campaigns to get KW moved, as with Tara Hudson? If not, why not? Again, because they don't look the part or something else?

I know there's no point in trying to look for consistency and rational thought, but sometimes the arguments are so spectacularly idiotic (but also telling) that they are worth picking apart

Is it treue that Jane Fae claimed that housing Karen White was done to discredit trans people?

According to twitter linked above, Dr.Pamela Osborn.

If you where a conspiracy theorist you would say maybe someone wanted to make it look bad.

It's obviously a conspiracy. Did Fae whisper it?

It may be that as the Prison's minister is saying that it was a failure of process rather than the framework which led to Karen White being placed in female estate and able to sexually assault female risoners. Jane Fae and others may well seek to expolit this, its very much JF's style.

Had this reply at 2:17 am (!) to my complaint.

i'm quite used to the BBC 'we can never admit when we're in the wrong' attititude, but it still pisses me off

Thanks for contacting us regarding the BBC Two programme ‘Victoria Derbyshire’ broadcast on 19 October 2018.

I understand you believe the programme took a pro-transgender view on the topic of the Gender Recognition Act.

Thanks for rising these concerns. I’ve watched the programme and there was a debate between Louise and Fay, who represented opposition to self-identification. Here Fay discussed the importance of women’s spaces, especially highlighting how some women can be vulnerable and need women’s only spaces. She also highlighted that while some people may feel like a woman, there are two distinct sexes. She added that if anyone can identify as a woman, then it raises the questions as to what a woman is, and then put forward her concerns that women have been silenced in this debate with derogatory slurs. There were a lot of concerns put forward when focusing on the debate in question.

In the studio, the three guests were invited on to discuss what they wanted to see from the Gender Recognition Act. The presenter was also able to ask probing questions in light of the responses given. We’d also take into account how a story is covered over a more reasonable period as we can provide an even broader range of views. A single programme or report isn’t representative of all our coverage.

Impartiality is a core value of the BBC, and one reason why we believe our news coverage is trusted and respected around the world. We apply this principle to our reporting of all issues. BBC News never takes a position on anything that we cover, but we always aim to reflect a broad range of voices on any given subject. The BBC is of course independent of any political or commercial interests, and our news agenda would never be influenced by any outside organisation.

That said, we do value your feedback about the programme on this occasion. All complaints are sent to senior management and programme teams every morning and I included your points in this overnight report.

These reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the BBC and ensures that your complaint has been seen by the right people quickly. This helps inform their decisions about current and future programmes.

Once again, thank you for contacting us.

Reasonable period presumably meaning 'at the very last minute'.

And it was still biased bullshit. Dissembling bollocks.
