"Look at how many hits we've had on the one-click page so far. A whopping 26,000! The tide has turned. This is the tipping point for the public. One big push sharing this in public and we will have made sex self-ID impossible for any government to push through into law. fairplayforwomen.com/email/"

This is fantastic!

I did what stealth suggested and switched on the VPN and it works.

TheLandsWhereTheJumbliesLive · 13/10/2018 23:58

I'm with talk talk and can't access either.

OldCrone · 14/10/2018 00:03

I'm with BT and can't get on there without the VPN.

HemanOrSheRa · 14/10/2018 00:19

I'm with Sky. I can access the site now through our Wi-Fi connection. Anyway, whether it was our ISP blocking or a problem with the website as mentioned on another thread, I've just made a donation. I would have done this anyway on pay day but I'm pissed off with people not being able to access the site.

Oldstyle · 14/10/2018 00:22

If it’s down use this instead. You’ll get an automatic email that you can forward directly to the government eepurl.com/dI5_SH

TheCbeebiesYellowBlobs · 14/10/2018 00:28

I can't get it through virgin either. Would appreciate someone techy telling me whether this is for sinister reasons. Surely not though??

OvaHere · 14/10/2018 00:32

I can't access via BT both mobile and wifi data.

Using a VPN I can access fine.

Seems suspicious.

MistressFunbox · 14/10/2018 00:59

My virgin has worked- is the site too busy?

ElenOfTheWays · 14/10/2018 02:19

Hmm. Blocked on Virgin. Went straight to it through my mobile data.

Yes I find it suspicious.

Spartasprout · 14/10/2018 03:01

Mine is blocked too, also on Virgin. I've tried both Safari and Firefox so it's not browser related.

numberseven · 14/10/2018 03:11

It looks like some DNS servers have "forgotten" the routing to WPUK's IP address. Suspicious timing. Hmm

tinabloodysparkle · 14/10/2018 08:40

Outrageous, we're Virgin media. The site miraculous loads when I turn WiFi off Angry.

How dare they?!!!! What can we do?

tinabloodysparkle · 14/10/2018 08:42

My mate is onto virgin customer services,... (update in 4 hours when they answer)

OvaHere · 14/10/2018 08:44

I can get to WPUK via BT.

FPFW is still blocked this morning unless I use a VPN setting my IP to outside the UK.

Charliethefeminist · 14/10/2018 08:47

My dh's eyes popped out of his head when I showed him the Virgin block. He agrees with me on this but always eye rolled when I've said it's a serious mass govt, media, corporate whatever attempt to shut women up and roll back rights. Something as simple as this was jaw dropping for him. Esp when I said 'you just get used to this sort of thing'

Serfisafleur · 14/10/2018 08:48

Very odd.
I'm with BT and can't get to it by clicking the link in the OP or when I type fairplayforwomen.com directly into the bar.

I used my Data instead and got into it straight away.
I'm back on BT WiFi now, no data, and I typed fair play for women into Google and got to the site that way.

All very odd. Maybe just a technical hitch?

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 14/10/2018 08:48

There were server problems but I haven't seen anything from Nic to suggest malice or sabotage. Just that the new settings take longer in some places than others.

Serfisafleur · 14/10/2018 08:51

Oh ignore me if I actually click on any link from the homepage I get
"Site can't be reached"

It would be useful if OP could let us know what's going on because it's really unsettling and suspicious...

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 14/10/2018 08:54

we're on virgin - same thing

this is new

i was able to order my leaflets just fine

i will get onto virgin media customer services this morning

pastabest · 14/10/2018 09:00

personwithavulva it's not so much 'pre-filled' more of a statement that you put your name to, stating that you believe the changes made to the GRA to bring in self ID can only be brought in at the expense of women's sex based rights.

It references the consultation and the relevant sections rather than pre-fills it from what's I can see. Apparently they have checked that responses recieved in this way will be accepted.

Any idea about how many of those 26000 clicks have become actual signatures? I'm finding it quite heartening that people are starting to discussion this now outside of mumsnet/twitter/Wpuk events etc.

OvaHere · 14/10/2018 09:23

I've just been onto BT web chat and this was the response.

I appreciate you explaining the situation to me. It seem to be specific web site issue and seem to have has got affected not by the BT network but the site that you're trying to access . There is a known global Internet access been issued that may cause interruption. I would suggest to wait for 24 hours and then give a try.

tinabloodysparkle · 14/10/2018 09:29

Virgin customer services (off-shore call centre) didn't know what we were on about) 🙄

catgirl1976 · 14/10/2018 09:31

I'm on BT and I am blocked. I've just tweeted @btcare. I'll let you know when I get a response

Needmoresleep · 14/10/2018 09:41

I have just spoken to the Virgin Media technical team having spoken to a lovely lady in India who agreed that protecting women's rights could cause men to get nasty. They will get back to me in four hours.

I suspect that the problem may be people logging into Virgin and reporting the website, which is fairly easy to do. I assume a lot of reports causes the ISP provider to automatically shut off access, with fewer staff around at the weekend to sort things out. The nice man in Wales I spoke to was aware of the controversy, and agreed with my suggestion that this was not something Virgin wanted to get caught up in.

It is really shocking. I was fairly relaxed about transgenderism, mainly concerned with free speech and protecting safe spaces for vulnerable women and girls. But these people are really nasty and completely undemocratic. I hope that this has been taken on board, and that oganisations, like the Civil Service, political parties, and Stonewall will review the extent to which they have been vulnerable to entryism and how it has affected their policies.

BettyDuMonde · 14/10/2018 09:42

EE broadband didn’t work either. EE 4G was fine. My husband just did it.

I will do a fuller version but he showed me the FPFW one before it went and I am impressed.
