Most bizzaire.

OP posts:

"Just sent this to my school's head of Physics :-)"

I sent it to my DS (he's a Natural Sciences student). I got a withering "For heaven's sake, Mother!!" back Grin

Look, that's not me posing in front of the camera looking like I fell in a vat of Maybelle!

FermatsTheorem · 09/10/2018 20:33

Of the many tweets in response (all critical, every single last one as far as I can see), this one wins the thread I think:

"It’s all about you, even quantum physics is about you."

AngryAttackKittens · 09/10/2018 20:36

2 things.

  1. WTF does this have to do with physics?
  2. Drag queen makeup really looks better from further away.
Thingybob · 09/10/2018 21:06

He's a Cambridge graduate but studied History of Art, not Physics

AngryAttackKittens · 09/10/2018 21:09

The comments are full of people who're so over this nonsense.

"Astrophysics and me - how the analysis of black holes parallels my quest to disappear up my own arsehole"

AngryAttackKittens · 09/10/2018 21:12

"Which burns brighter, a supernova or my ego"

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/10/2018 21:19

Someone tweeted Brian Cox, I would be intriguing to see his take on it...

Tinlegs · 09/10/2018 23:47

And old Etonian. The whole troupe he is part of (Denim) went to Eton and Cambridge.

He might be taking the piss but probably not.

jinglebitch · 10/10/2018 06:46

I tweeted Robin Ince off of "The infinite Monkey cage" suggesting them for a panellist....reader, he "liked" it Blush

ToeToToe · 10/10/2018 07:29

The comments are excellent Grin

But honestly - the BBC ?? wtaf are they doing?

RepealtheGRA · 10/10/2018 07:45

He's a Cambridge graduate

Of course he is.

RepealtheGRA · 10/10/2018 08:07

I think even OJ’s peaking over this one.

Has he yet admitted he is on the wrong side of history and not only are women extremely fucked off with him, I imagine transsexuals are incredibly brassed off at him supporting the appropriation of their rights by lunatics.

Eton and Cambridge? Give it 20 years and they'll be PM!

i think he looks kind of cool

i'll get my coat

he knows fuck all about quantum physics though, so not sure why he's in that video

see if he was just getting on with his life, widening the bandwidth of being male and just generally being an interesting, colourful person i would think he was pretty fab

just stop pretending to be something you're not!

RepealtheGRA · 10/10/2018 08:48

This account has gone into overdrive at the BBC promoting this.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 10/10/2018 09:00

ugh, actual transphobia on that twitter account

referring to a person as 'it'

it's horrible when you see people behaving that way

luckily there is almost no transphobia on FWR so I feel very comfortable here

RepealtheGRA · 10/10/2018 09:05

It’s all so absurd and yet the bbc lap it up, why? What’s the adgenda?

You have to wonder don’t you? Because it’s hardly increasing public tolerance of transsexuals.

FermatsTheorem · 10/10/2018 09:10

Yes. Be trans and proud. That's great.

Just don't try to appropriate the places which exist because of differences in biology.

(And yes, the genuine transphobia on that twitter feed is horrible.)

Tinlegs · 10/10/2018 10:27

I think he is a performer - rather than trans. My take on him (and I met him at the Fringe after the show in the bar) is that he is an actor doing what it takes to be successful - trading on his brain and his connections but more ambitious and determined than actually fighting for any kind of agenda. I am hypersensitive to this kind of stuff and I sort of feel he is too intelligent to be peddling it and may well be doing it with irony.

He is playing a character (rather like Dame Edna) and it is his character speaking. You will find absolutely no references to him out of character on any of the pages but lots and lots once you find out his real name and it is all about getting scripts made.

Have the BBC fallen for a giant hoax?

Have the BBC fallen for a giant hoax?

At this stage I have no idea what the BBC are up to or what their agenda is and I don’t think they do either.
