After her article for the pool was edited from ‘women must stand for women’ to ‘women and non-binary people must stand for women’.....

‘The point I was expressly making was that members of the same oppressed sex class must be able to represent that oppressed sex class in politics if our voices are to be heard & we are to stop violence against women & girls which is perpetrated against us because of our sex (more)’

Nice to see her call out the pool who consistently pander. I wonder if Lauren Laverne might comment? Given her late night women’s hour on the BBC I doubt she’d be able to have a GC view.

Glad to see Sophie speaking out about this. I have just posted about a different Pool cock up - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3389200-The-Pool-ffs

Thanks arranfan for pointing me here.

This isn't the first time the performatively woke have inserted gender bollocks into a piece that didn't originally contain it. I think Sophie should publicly demand that they revert the wording back to what she actually submitted to them.

thrilling & challenging

Lost me there and I was just beginning to thaw towards her.

I’ve unsubscribed an explained in the comments box exactly why.

When I read it, I thought that the Pool had done some more 'editing' of SW's article Grin

Shouldn't it read chilling and challenging?

stillathing · 09/10/2018 11:36

Hey The Pool, if you are reading. Pretty sure I was your target audience before. I'm younger than a lot of your contributors but old enough to have a career etc . I used to read you daily and your website more than any other led to me clicking through to make beauty and clothing purchases. I can't believe some of your better journalists are for this - Sali? Ella? It's really sad how you are treating women.

It should indeed!

MorrisZapp · 09/10/2018 12:21

I'm having a let's be nice to Sophie day. Look, very few of us peaked in a week. The Pool are the knobends here, we all know SW is supremely unthrilled to have to deal with this shite but it's the required language.

It goes 'positive, positive, BOOM'.

Ignore the positives. They're the journalistic equivalent of buildings insurance.

"Ignore the positives. They're the journalistic equivalent of buildings insurance." LOL

know your genre and all that.
