R4 Thought for Today

Can't quite believe R4 are allowing the religious slot on the Today programme to promote how people should complete the GRA consultation
Asking questions doesn't mean you're transphobic, it means you don't understand!

I've made a couple of comments on the other thread but this is the summary of my phone complaint:

I mentioned the confusion in language over non binary and trans people; I said this was an inappropriate choice of speaker at such a sensitive time prior to a public consultation; I said that as the mother of a trans child I had no voice representing my own different views within the public debate and on the BBC; I said that there had been no debate about this on Woman's Hour and that it made this morning's choice very odd and possibly partisan; I said that the views of this morning's speaker did not accurately reflect the debate and any of the bigger issues.

I submitted a complaint online, saying that it was inappropriate to allow Rabbi Jabber-Klausner to essentially campaign for a political viewpoint on the thought for the day slot. Especially given the lack of coverage otherwise and bias when there is.

Complaint submitted online this morning. Specifically highlighted that women asking questions about the GRA were portrayed as either confused, or transphobic - instead of potentially intelligent, educated and reasonably concerned.

I think you will find that Christianity does emphatically recognise a disconnect between body and soul...wouldn't work otherwise!

My understanding is that the duality of body/soul becomes a much bigger part of Christian thought once Hellenistic philosophy got involved. Prior to that in the very early church (obviously mostly Jewish) there was a much more holistic approach to soul/mind/body.

Which isn't particularly relevant to the thread in itself, bit does indicate that the sort of body/soul duality which trans ideology embraces is foreign to traditional Jewish thought.
