Police screen out crimes....

So, news this morning is that police are screening out crimes that are reported and obviously sexual assault is a high one not even assigned a police officer...

However, women are being investigated for 'hate crimes' for hurting feelings online - not threatening violence but misgendering. Unbelievable.

Sorry Telegraph (I saw the front cover on 'the papers' part of BBC) and it was then reported on itv news.

I saw it on BBC news - targeting investigating fewer crimes.

My first thought was how that would work with them sending 5 officers and a horse to 3 women handing out leaflets.

If they're going to do that to address "literal violence" then there won't be enough officers to address actual violence.

Didn't see that sexual assaults will be amongst crimes not being prioritised though.

Are you sure?

Although I suppose if they look at conviction rates it might make sense to them...

Well, 4 or maybe 5 cars with 2 coppers apiece were sent to near where I live recently in connection with a repossessed house. No danger posed to the public whatsoever.
Kind of showed me quite clearly where police priorities lie locally to me.

I've been looking online because I'm sure I heard 70% of sexual assaults but I might be wrong about that. However, as you say if you consider conviction rates it is probably likely.
