Trans Activists worked hard to discredit, smear and demonise Zucker.
He had been working in the field of Gender Dysphoria and was the foremost researcher and practitioner. His research led him to the 'wait and see' approach, after finding that a small percentage of adolescents required further intervention. He established the links between gender dysphoria and autism, trauma and anxiety.
There was a BBC documentary (Transgender Kids: Who Knows Best) featuring Zucker, that prompted activists to put up a petition on change.org to stop it from airing. They were beside themselves! It didn't work in the UK and the documentary went ahead.
Their TRA campaigns to prevent the documentary, worked in other countries. They claimed that the documentary's was 'transphobic' and that it would cause untold harm to trans viewers and their families.
The UK medical establishment covered itself in glory (not!) by condemning Zucker's 'wait and see' approach, in support of the TRAs.
Zucker was sacked. The clinic was closed.
He has been through hell and back again. Worst still, adolescents and parents throughout the world lost valuable further research and robust tests for good practice when the clinic closed.
I'm so glad to see this turn around.
