Silly question about the GRA

Apologies, I am sure this is really dim. Blush. It sort of goes to the point on the other thread about the level of literacy required for the online consultation form, but I didn’t want to derail.

I finally completed the survey today. I didn’t have to give a phone number or an email address for it to be submitted.

Does anyone know what the safeguards are to prevent multiple entries from the same person? I know that even requiring an email/phone number doesn’t prevent gaming, but will there be checks against names and postcodes etc to ensure that the consultations are “genuine”? Given the tech saviness of many of the people heavily invested in this question, it’s slightly concerning that they could ramp up responses in a particular direction.

I wonder if they will weight the replies.

As trans are only 0.1% of the population then surely if 25% for example say they are trans then we are not getting a representative view.

It's not a silly question at all. IIRC, this concern was discussed in the context of the Green Party when the Challenor scandal happened. I have no idea what the safeguards/checks will be. This is one of the very good reasons for women to fill in the form after getting advice from each other, but using in their own words.

It is a good question. I've done 7 now (on behalf of family, supporting them because the whole form's hard - on purpose) and used their emails though.

You are right that you don't need an email/phone no. I see no reason why thid could not be manipulated by mass entries.
