Just a thought...I've heard a number of women (here and elsewhere) saying that when they complain about sexist billboards nothing happens. I wonder what would happen if women started graffitiing sexist billboards with the dictionary definition of woman???

That is genius!

Love it!

They'd probably get prosecuted for criminal damage. Except maybe in Nottinghamshire?

Obviously we should target the owner of the billboards on Twitter. As Dr Harrumph did.

Reminds me of this absolute classic bit of feminist graffiti

I really love this idea.

I was thinking the same thing earlier. a penis sticker or two should cover unnecessary bare skin.

Re opposing ads that are demeaning to women I think that we should learn from our favourite Dr - Mr A. Harrop who has proved an absolute gift over the past few days in
i) allowing 'Posie Parker' to rip both his credibility and his position to shreds on live t.v and

Ii) demonstrating how we get 'offensive' billboards removed (even where they're not actually offensive).

Clearly, as a man, just a few tweets and calls will suffice whereas, as women, we will need numbers (but hey, we are the majority) and this whole nonsense is stirring ' non activist-y' (like me) into wanting to do something plus we're increasing coordinating via Mumsnet, Twitter, feminist grps.

So, lessons learnt from our fav Dr today ...

  • target the billboard company (both public and privately)
  • identify their key customers that might not want to be associated with dodgy values (whilst reminding them of course that it's still generally the women that do the shopping).
