Some choice quotes:

The Argentine who directed the controversial 2002 revenge thriller Irreversible, with its graphic 10-minute rape scene, has said that he never thinks of an audience when making a film – the focus is always on his own enjoyment.

‘The demonisation of nudity is sending Western society back to the 19th century’

It’s much easier for people to be homosexual or bisexual or polysexual or whatever, now – people have more sexual freedom – but the representation of sex is becoming problematic

“I used to buy magazines like Mayfair, Playboy etc. To get horny, of course, but also because of the beauty of these girls,

Hmm

Women can enjoy sex but don't want to watch films made by men who admit to create wank fodder for themselves. I don't get it. Why ever not. Why it's practically the 19th century! It's such a giant steaming heap of male entitlement.

Yeuch. A graphic rape scene, for his own 'enjoyment' EnvyAngry

It's the old 'prude' argument again - women not accepting/ embracing the horrible porno sex narrative that runs through a lot of male heads so we're a dried up bunch of Victorian anal retentives!
Cover those table legs immediately!

A graphic rape scene, for his own 'enjoyment'

And that's an OK quote to publish. You do see how these creeps just hide in plane sight don't you. Right there in black and white. And in 15 years time when he is having his #metoo moment, they'll say but he was lovely! I had no idea.

Exactly.
It's like Bertolucci/ Brando 'Last Tango in Paris' . After 50 years, not a lot has changed. The film will make loads of money and the director will be hailed as a creative genius.
Never telling stories from the pov of women though, always through that grim voyeuristic lens which allows men to step into the shoes of the male protagonist.
Same old perspective.

'The demonisation of nudity'

Translates more simply to -

"I want to see more boobs! Stop cramping my style!"
