I think this video is the result of not wanting to be seen saying the obvious - that 'trans women' are not women, that they are male, and males are men, and that men don't belong in women's spaces. This video is playing the "there are real trans women, and there are men who identify as trans women for nefarious purposes" angle. It pretends to be naming the problem from a feminist perspective but actually in avoiding mentioning trans at all it is clearly not naming the problem.
The problem of self id is not a general one of men's violence against women, it is more specifically that men are claiming to be women and the state and media etc is supporting them to do so in a culture of male violence against women. Naming the problem here has to involve naming that men are not women, that men can never be women, and that it simply does not matter what motivation men may have for claiming to be women.
I don't like this sort of video with the music and all the rest anyway and yes it should come with a content warning. I think while films like this might tug at some people's heartstrings they also make others feel defensive and cynical. I don't think it's a helpful tactic and I think that there are other better options for raising awareness. Including stating the obvious, using science, showing the comparison of trans ideology with religious belief and cult behaviour, using facts and statistics, and being just forthright about all of this. Show people the stupidity and the deceit, be no nonsense, maybe even poke a little fun at how obviously bullshit it all is.
I realise I'm basically saying honey vs vinegar but honestly this video is preaching to the converted. It comes across like misery propaganda, the sort of thing trans activists love making, and one of the reasons their whole schtick is so tasteless.
I don't think we should stoop to it if we don't have to.
