So Birmingham LGBTQ are claiming that Birmingham Police emailed them with a warning that transphobic and homophobic stickers had been found with razorblades.

I have asked Brum Police to confirm.

We will wait and see, but it wouldn't be the first time police have been duped and sent out warnings about hoaxes.

CrackpotsArePots · 20/09/2018 19:17

That's exactly the same wording of the last made-up scare

Potplant2 · 20/09/2018 19:18

‘Birmingham LGBT Center’, eh? Almost like the person who is so concerned about this is, oh, a few thousand miles away over the Atlantic...

AspieAndProud · 20/09/2018 19:18

Did the police warn them of the stickers (which ought hurt feelies and are therefore a hate-crime of Nazi proportions) or actual razor-blades?

Twunk · 20/09/2018 19:20

🤔
They’re damn determined to get this idea to stick aren’t they?

CrackpotsArePots · 20/09/2018 19:21

Potplant

Blimey, yes. I mean I know they spell mum "mom" in Birmingham, but I think that mauling of the Queen's English is beyond the pale

Ereshkigal · 20/09/2018 19:46

Do they perhaps mean Birmingham, Alabama? I changed buses there once.

KatVonGulag · 20/09/2018 19:48

Hmm. Inspector Kat of the Gulag went a snooping on the Facebook page of Rico person who shared the original info.
They've got some fine friends who want to go "scalp some b*tches"

KatVonGulag · 20/09/2018 19:50

But there's also someone on there calling them right out for there bs and quite frankly nailing them

KatVonGulag · 20/09/2018 19:52

Isn't "scalp some b*tches" hateful to women? Whoop whoop that's the sound of the South Yorkshire police......

Ereshkigal · 20/09/2018 19:53

Sadly not a hate crime, but I'd say a credible threat of violence.

Ereshkigal · 20/09/2018 19:55

Only not a hate crime because it's boring old cunty women, natch. Need to be more stunning and brave to qualify.

sausagebap · 20/09/2018 19:56

I’m intrigued how these people are always apparently up for scalping/punching/lynching terfs yet are simultaneously such sensitive little flowers that a sticker upsets them.

KatVonGulag · 20/09/2018 20:06

Old Scalpy Shaun works for a charity!
I wouldn't dox but it amazes me how rude and stupid some people are!

Ereshkigal · 20/09/2018 20:08

"Scalping bitches" completely woke, and not at all violently misogynistic.

SansaryaAgain · 20/09/2018 20:20

Oh I vaguely know Scalpy. Doxxing won't make a difference as that charity isn't exactly pro-women 🙄

GeneticTest · 20/09/2018 20:22

Hmm.

Tory party conference is in Birmingham in a few weeks. Wouldn’t it be good if some GC stickers got stuck around the area.

miri1985 · 20/09/2018 20:30

If this is true, why are the police emailing an LGBT organisation rather than just putting it on their social media?

If this was pre-twitter etc then emailing an LGBT organisation might be a good way to disseminate information quickly to a select group but it seems a bit odd now to not want to get information about an allegedly dangerous situation spread as widely as possible.

KatVonGulag · 20/09/2018 20:31

I hope Scalpy is more charming in real life sansarya

HamsterToast · 20/09/2018 21:14

I asked the person challenging them on facebook if they did provide the email for proof as she requested. Will update you

You know what though, I'm paranoid enough to think that some groups would do this just to make others look bad.

HamsterToast · 20/09/2018 21:28

Actually the more people who ask Birmingham Police about it the more likely they'll have to release a statement, like Manchester Police did.

Right, Brum police have said they have no record of such a thing.

Honestly, if the first one was a hoax why would women start doing it now? It plays in to their hands. I'm 100% sure some fuck head will do this now though, because they're arseholes and it will be in a women's toilet so some poor female "ally" will cut themselves trying to remove it.

vallis · 20/09/2018 21:45

Surely it can't have escaped their notice that the stickers were readily available to purchase on the internet?

So they could have actually created their own hoax with real blades if they'd been bothered. But no, just stick to being liars and web-bullies instead.

Same old.
