Does anyone know How many people are in WEP?
I'm just wondering what the power of my vote would be if I joined. Or if a few hundred feminists (re) joined.

I've not considered joining before but I would to make change happen.

vicviking · 14/09/2018 19:31

I am desperate for a political party to take this issue seriously. I would join the WEP to make that happen.

lurker33 · 14/09/2018 19:36

I would join too

volume37number5 · 14/09/2018 19:42

I would also consider joining.

RaininSummer · 14/09/2018 19:52

I would consider it if we really think we can make a difference.

OpalIridescence · 14/09/2018 19:54

Yes I would join

Coyoacan · 14/09/2018 20:18

Yet another brilliant idea from the feminists of mumsnet. This is definitely an idea with wings.

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/09/2018 20:21

I hadn't considered joining before but I am doing so now.

Noqont · 14/09/2018 20:21

There isn't a group near me :-(

HuckfromScandal · 14/09/2018 20:22

I will join too
That’s 15

ABitCrapper · 14/09/2018 20:24

I was a founding member but left over this nonsense.
Yes I will rejoin as well and make my voice heard.

HuckfromScandal · 14/09/2018 20:25

And I have joined the local branch

OpalIridescence · 14/09/2018 20:57

Ok I have joined.

RogerAllamsFangirl · 14/09/2018 21:06

I've joined

arranfan · 14/09/2018 21:14

I was a founding member but left over this nonsense.

Likewise. I'm still not sure about rejoining because of Heather etc.

CecilyNeville · 14/09/2018 21:18

Just been looking at the page of my local branch, which seems pretty active. Am going to join.

ABitCrapper · 14/09/2018 21:18

Maybe someone could ask Heather if she thinks it would be possible to change the policy from the inside if enough of us join. I mean she should know if anyone does?

Wrybread · 14/09/2018 21:19

I'm thinking of joining

AncientLights · 14/09/2018 21:23

I will also join if it looked like we could make some headway on this situation. Do I gather they have pulled back from the 'TWAW' stance?

speakingwoman · 14/09/2018 21:25

:)
Appreciate the issue with Dr Brunskell-Evans but this is a party we can realistically do good through.

WEP have 45,000 ish members and supporters. Around 600 bought tickets for the conference last weekend. They've said there will be a members consultation on self id.

There are small groups from both sides who feel strongly about the GRA but most of the membership don't appear to be well informed on the issue. I hope the consultation will include a full explanation of what changes in the GRA will really mean for women.

Terrifiedandregretful · 14/09/2018 21:32

I’d consider this too. Good idea

Voice0fReason · 14/09/2018 21:35

This is something I would look at if I felt it would make a difference.

speakingwoman · 14/09/2018 21:50

So 45k -ish. And what was the number of women on this board again?

OP posts:
bzzbeebzz · 14/09/2018 22:30

Me too
