Question Time panel BBC (13/09) Prisons Minister and Julia HB

Today, the Speaker refused to allow time for Parliament to discuss the policy that allowed a serial rapist to be placed in a woman's prison, with tragic and preventable consequences.

Tonight, on Question Time, the Prison Minister, Rory Stewart, (MP Con Penrith & the Border) faces the nation instead.

Also on the panel, the Talk Radio host Julia Hartley Brewer, Chris Leslie (MP Labour Nottingham East) Theo Paphitis (Dragons Den) and Faiza Shaheen (prospective parliamentary candidate for key marginal Chingford and director of Centre for Labour and Social Studies, Class)

Might be interesting......

Not looking good.

Clearly not an important enough issue for QT

Of course! The BBC are a lost cause.

That's a relief I've only got a laptop...

Well that was disappointing.

And I'm sure JHB referred to Serena Williams as a sportsMAN.

I read through page 1 of this thread thinking "it's the BBC, they'll avoid that topic if they can". It seems I have a career as a Mystic Meg waiting for me.

MipMipMip · 14/09/2018 10:20

I am still so angry about this.

Cwenthryth · 14/09/2018 11:43

Just filled in a YouGov survey and it asked me what I watched on telly last night, I clicked QT, and then asked for feedback. So I got to write that I was disappointed that a question was not asked on housing transgender prisoners given the KW case was in the news and the prisons minister was on the panel.

Somewhat reassuring to think that might make its way back to someone at QT, you never know.

Missed this - went out dancing instead.

At least DJ's keyboard (and teeth!) is intact.

in other disturbing news my husband has some kind of man-crush on the minister for prisons. writes for the New York Review or some such apparently.... DH described him as a gentleman, scholar and adventurer. To me he just looked nervous.

speakingwoman · 14/09/2018 15:40

On the bright side, it was good to see how all the men looked up to/feared/deferred to JHB. Whereas the other woman had little presence.

How can we learn to communicate as effectively as JHB?
