Julia will be talking to South Yorkshire Police this morning if anyone wants to call in and ask a question.

You can text your question to ‭87222‬, just put “TALK” in front of your message.

FlippinFumin · 11/09/2018 07:56

Well I will be on my way to work. But I would like to ask SYP why their tweet still says gender identity as a protected characteristic instead of sex. I did tweet them to let them know but they ignored me. Pffftt

GulagMilkMonitor · 11/09/2018 08:16

Oh she is ripping him a new one Grin

Tartle · 11/09/2018 08:25

I only caught the end but that was incredible (and not in the good way!) What is wrong with this man?! Does he understand the words he's saying?!

This from the police force that gave us Rotherham.

2rebecca · 11/09/2018 08:58

I noted he didn't mention sex among his protected characteristics but mentioned "gender identity (or may have been gender assignment)" and "sexual orientation" which are the same sort of thing. It's not femininity that needs protecting but femaleness. He's set it up so TRAs can complain to the "hurty feelings hotline" but women can't. I wonder what actual police think of this? He sounded too woke to be a real police officer.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 11/09/2018 09:12

I assumed yesterday when that tweet went out that someone would be belting at high speed down to some basement office to tear the keyboard out of the hands of the Tweeter and give it to someone less woke, who'd had less coffee and had something of a grip on reality. While the rest of the department frantically tried to reframe and limit the damage to their reputation.

Apparently no, they actually are this divorced from reality.

I love this!! So true.

littlbrowndog · 11/09/2018 09:31

This was brought up on r4 this morning

A top police officer was talking bout how police need more resources
The radio interviewer tried to get the officer about 3 times to condem the use of police resource s in this initiative

The interviewer was aghast that this was serious initiative from a police force

FloralCup · 11/09/2018 10:04

I missed this but the next presenter is also going to be discussing this apparently.

theOtherPamAyres · 11/09/2018 14:33

Julia will be talking to South Yorkshire Police

Wrong.

The Police and Crime Commissioner is a person elected by the people of South Yorkshire.

PCCs ensure that the concerns of the people they represent are top of the Chief Constable's agenda. Chief Constables are accountable to them.

It's a politician with considerable power to affect policing. And that's why it's scary. Shock

TriptychTwins · 11/09/2018 14:39

Sorry - I worded it badly. I just knew it was an important person with regards to the police situation in South Yorkshire. Judging by their record, you think they would've been a bit more careful with their wording.

Interesting point there 2rebecca. Trans ideology is about the protection of femininity and masculinity as stereotypes but not femaleness. If they get their way woman will have to be dressed either as 1950s housewives or lapdancers to be allowed to call themselves women, and any woman who digresses ie wears trousers will be 'transed' and be designated male and not be allowed to become a 'mother'. Sounds loopy I know but if organisations such as nspcc can't see the obvious safeguarding issues that will arise out of the social and legal acceptance of women having penises then we may look back to the Jimmy saville nightmare as being just a little taster of what was to follow

theOtherPamAyres · 11/09/2018 15:11

No apology needed @Trip Flowers

It may help someone. When the Wokes in the police service are recording male crimes and calling thugs 'she', then there is an elected official that has to answer directly to the public.

PCCs have a duty to consult the public. They have staff. They hold public meetings. They have surgeries.

Just like we are questioning our MPs and councillors, PCCs can be put on the spot. And that's what Julia H-B did this morning.

I think it was clever of her to invite a politician. Grin

I wonder how many elected Police and Crime Commissioners are TRAs.
