At the Women's Equality Party Conference, a born male is thrilled to tell you that:-

Pleased to report that @SophieRunning* & I have won the first big vote of the day. We will not be railroaded into taking a vote on whether trans women are women. We will have discussions on trans issues respectfully, and with trans members involved. We will have discussions on trans issues respectfully, and with trans members involved*

Unless these issues are about transmen, why does the Women's Equality Party Conference have to discuss trans issues?

Trans people had a conference this weekend.

No women that I'm aware of rocked up to demand women's issues were discussed.

Is there no place that women are allowed to discuss women's issues without having to consider trans issues?

Is there no place where women are allowed to gather without a trans perspective?

Just like the Green Party, (with little money, a heavy reliance on volunteers, and the promotion of the willing rather than the competent) the WEP is the perfect vehicle for trans rights.

It doesn't take long to climb to a position in a small party. You get to run a local party (Challoners in Coventry), or you're a special interest group with constitutional rights to be consulted (Green Party LBGTQWRT+++), or you can be a national celebrity (A Challenor, standing for Deputy leadership of the Green party while having no interest in Environmental matters).

That's why you see trans Cherry Morgan exhorting fellows to join WEP. Sorry lads, but we've noticed that you never talk about women and haven't the faintest idea about our concerns.

We've been here before with Jess and Aimee and Lily and... and...etc.

I get the point about committees, but surely as a party member you can start making noise at least, whereas at the moment i feel utterly powerless and i am worried about the world that awaits my daughter. No mother wants their daughter to have to struggle more than they did against misogyny.

The students on the radio show were Francesca Gluscevic and Sage Brice. FG proposed the Bristol Uni 'ban t*s' motion which passed. Was just looking again at that WEP blog - the razorblades ffs! And 'getting paid to train clueless c** people'... Morgan gives training to organsations including the police - so the police are paying for training from someone who spreads malicious hoaxes which waste police time - see BTP statement - how does that work...?!

There's something very, very odd about Cheryl's written 'voice'. Can't put my finger on it, it's like she's offering to cut you a lovely slice of Victoria sponge but still somehow emphasizing the knife.
