I need to explain to someone in an education environment who has no interest in the GC/feminist side of anything why we shouldn't have Mermaids in to train staff. All I've said so far is that they are controversial. I probably only have one chance to convince him that this is a terrible idea. I know lots of stories/ ideological reasons why I don't want them in, but I need to organise this into 3/4 good clear, easy to understand reasons why letting them train our staff is not ok.

Sorry if this is vague. Trying not to make it too outing

There's a good article by James Kirkup from the Spectator which asks questions about Mermaids specifically with regards their conflict in approach to the NHS GIDs professionals and their lobbying role.

There is another article from the Guardian specifically about education which also demonstrates the differences between the Mermaids / Allsorts affirmation approach and others who have concerns about this:

Both articles have nuance and hopefully anyone in education would recognise the complexities and potential concerns having read them.
