Sorry, but what? People comment on bits of threads and comments all the time. Please don’t shut down free comment. Nobody needs to respond if they do not wish to.
I was responding to a comment that a certain view was conservative, and in my view, it is not.
There is enough silencing of women without adding to it on here.

If you're going to practice necromancy at least bring back Cleopatra or someone interesting like that

My vote would be for Hildegard von Bingen or Aphra Behn. What a great idea for a thread...

What really worries me about men who self ID as female and are allowed to be in segregated areas for women is that, people who are fighting for it are so militant and refuse to accept other opinions on the matter - does this mean that any incidents that occur because of it are going to be glossed over and ignored?

This is a mjor issue I have with GG - they are so sold at top level I can image there being load of pressure on people to keep quiet if something did happen.

At local level the leaders I#ve spoken to are very concerned with the entire thing and very worried.

Plus all crimes wpuld he reported as being commuted by a woman so there would be no way to find out really

GrabEmByThePatriarchy · 09/12/2018 10:52

I don't donate either now knickknack. Fuck that.

Beamur · 09/12/2018 11:03

I had a letter recently from the NSPCC asking why I had stopped my direct debit to them. So I told them I was unimpressed that they refused to answer the perfectly reasonable questions posed about safeguarding to the MN community and then didn't bother responding to me when I asked a question directly. So I am choosing instead to donate to smaller charities with a tighter focus. And no dodgy blind spots.

LikeDust · 09/12/2018 11:33

Yes Beamur. I wish mumsnetters could create an index of worthy charities when the majority of funds goes to the front line and who are watertight with safeguarding.
It is frustrating not knowing.
I wonder if we could create a thread to be an informal index for our own use?

Beamur · 09/12/2018 11:35

There has been some suggestions for charities that do just that following the NSPCC debacle. Can't remember what thread though.
