Last time I used a train WiFi it wouldn’t let me onto ASOS or the website I use to pay my DS’s school lunches and gave a similar warning. The train manager said it was nothing to do with the specific site, just that was the typical notice when a website is too “heavy” to load on their shitty WiFi.

arranfan · 04/09/2018 20:24

Whatevzz - sorry, just noticed you've put this here about the WiFi on the train. I started a thread - I could ask for it to be deleted?

Whatevszz · 04/09/2018 21:31

Thanks having

arran no probs, whatever you think is best.

The whole thing is just incredibly sinister. I can understand why they hate mumsnet so much, parebhts have a great deal of control over whether children who ask for transition can undergo an early transition or not. Obviously those who don't get the support to transition early have more time to change their minds. It makes you wonder what the end game is. Do transactivists all genuinely believe that giving children drugs that impact on fertility, bone density and god knows what else is a good idea? Or is there something else driving this? Why go to such lengths. I just don't understand it and can't take it at face value.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 05/09/2018 13:47

Google may have a lot of trans employees, but they also make a huge amount of money out of selling ad space. And they have absolutely no qualms about upsetting employees if it makes them money, eg: the furore at Google over defence contracts.

Starkstaring · 05/09/2018 17:40

Racecar it is hard to fathom. But the thing is trans children is proof, to an insecure trans adult, that being "born in the wrong body" is a biological reality, and not something else.
Older transsexuals who had a hideous time growing up, then dismissed and ridiculed by their families and the medical establishment - I can kind of see how they think they are saving young people from going through what they did.
But that can't be what's driving this, can it? A perfect storm of rebellion, mental health crisis, identity politics... or a symptom of western culture eating itself inside out as we head for oblivion ….

SunsetBeetch · 07/09/2018 16:31

Honestly sick of reporting Kilgore Sprout's latest twitter accounts. Is there any action @MHHQ or their advertisers could take re his harrassment?

He's been going after Joanie Walsh and Posie Parker a lot too.

I don't think many people are particularly worried about him, despite his commitment to hating women.

He comes across as completely unhinged and everything he says is easy to disprove.

SunsetBeetch · 07/09/2018 16:39

Yeah he's not well is he?

ErrolTheDragon · 07/09/2018 18:08

Amid those blatant lies, I don't get the point about cutting FWR off from their ad network ... sounds like make it easier to use without accidentally being followed around by that M&S frock, presumably not what he meant. Confused

ErrolTheDragon · 07/09/2018 18:11

Well - hopefully some of our advertisers will come and take a look and start wondering stuff like, hm, so WTF was a rapist doing in a women's jail? (If they missed pm on R4 today)

PineappleSunrise · 07/09/2018 18:36

Lol - there's a meme I'd like to see. No-one's a REAL woman unless she has the latest M&S frock. Grin

stillathing · 07/09/2018 18:45

Most upsetting is he's named himself after a character from an excellent Kurt Vonnegut book.

Actually I wonder if that is a clue he's a double agent.... In one of his books featuring Kilgore Trout Vonnegut tells you the penis length and circumference of all the male characters...??

MsBeee · 07/09/2018 18:58

I know this feels scary, but I keep saying this, we are in a unique position here as we have the hard evidence from Canada and USA. So the stealth tactics they used elsewhere , won't work. ( for example a Nick Robison BBC player, interview with Paris Lees, where Paris only quoted Ireland, Denmark, Argentina already having self-ID which I though was interesting ) not Canada and USA, where there is plenty of evidence of problems.

If they tried to bring down mums net, can you imagine all the users who may not be aware, it would bring it to their attention. I think Feminist Current's readership went up after they did that ( please correct me if Im wrong).

Also this pfox.org/Shame-Rage.pdf, which has been shared elsewhere, says when they went after Bailey, who wrote The Man Who Would Be Queen, it actually brought a lot of Publicity to a book that had had only sold about 4000 copies before they went after him.

"One of the most important contributions made by Dreger’s article is her description of the extraordinary lengths to which some of Bailey’s male-to-female (MtF) transsexual opponents went in their attempts to discredit him, his book, and his ideas. By Dreger’s account, their campaign against Bailey continued for at least two years after the publication of The Man Who Would Be Queen "

I used to think I was being paranoid but I get the same feeling, that there really is an endgame. Not from your individual trans person as such, I think even the most mixed up individuals are just pawns in the game, but as a movement and ideology with some very wealthy backers and all major organisations seemingly being infiltrated/people put in positions of power. None of it is seeming like an accident to me.

I think it is a deeply conservative ideology with an endgame of a) the dismantling of women's rights and feminism and b) the ultimate eradication of homosexuality.

LemonJello · 08/09/2018 08:39

I think it serves some as a softening up for extreme body modification- normalising the body as a customisable shell for housing the mind, with the aim of integrating technology into human bodies.

I agree.

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 10/09/2018 22:59

I think I'm mainly concerned about the attacks on safeguarding of children and other vulnerable people and the concerted effort to say that bodily boundaries aren't important.

This isn't tin foil hat at all. This is based on credible science & tech happening right now.

To be fair, I'd love to replace my neck with one that doesn't hurt in the afternoon.
