Not sure if it's been mentioned but there's an interview with Jennie in the Mail on Sunday's Event supplement.
She comments on the trans issue denying she is a Terf and indeed a feminist (!) but does assert that she believes in Sex rather than gender.
I may have paraphrased so if there's a link out there...

I am not sure if there has been a thread on it, TBH, but here is the article I think you're referencing?

www.dailymail.co.uk/home/event/article-6086943/Jenni-Murray-doesnt-want-friends-interviewees.html

Choice quote:
‘I said what I felt was important to say at the time and I will not be slagged off as a Terf,’ she says. ‘I’m not a trans-exclusionary radical feminist. I’m a feminist. Radical, I would debate. Trans-exclusionary, certainly not. I have absolute belief in people being respected and protected regardless of their gender, their sexuality, whatever. Total respect for all of that, but at least let’s think about the impact this gender debate has on women’s rights, sensibilities and health.’ As an example, she has heard of doctors being told to change their language so as not to offend transgender people. ‘I had breast cancer, not chest cancer. That is my perception of myself and my sex, not my gender. Gender is fluid, sex is not.’

YES to Jenni Murray.

Good for her in standing her ground over this. I complained to the BBC last time for their discriminatory treatment of her.

Either this time MRA / TRA HQ will decide that they're fighting enough fires at the moment OR they will be so optimistic that the BBC has drunk the koolaid that they'll be heading for twatter to demand her instant sacking for daring to state that breast cancer should not be called chest cancer.

Oh good for her!

I love listening to her - she has such calm authority.

ImPreCis · 27/08/2018 18:05

Love JM. Have felt very let down by R4 and Woman’s Hour in particular regarding the Trans debate.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 27/08/2018 18:08

The BBC has been infected with the Woke.

Starkstaring · 27/08/2018 18:18

Go Jenni!

Cwenthryth · 27/08/2018 18:24

I’ve had a horrible day, and after all the Shock of reading through the Aimee/David Challenor/Green Party/(lack of) safeguarding fiasco, this has made me Grin

JM for PM, says I.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 27/08/2018 19:23

Well done Jenni!

gettingtherequickly · 27/08/2018 19:29

She's such a sensible woman.

silentcrow · 27/08/2018 19:33

Well, we know we sometimes get famous people lurking - so Jenni Murray, if you're reading this, thank you for speaking out. I would love to hear you interview Prof Kathleen Stock and I'm looking forward to when your book comes to the top of my to-read pile Grin

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 27/08/2018 19:38

Thank you Jenni.

Every little helps but it only helps a little. As much as I enjoy her no nonsense style, I believe that Jenni could use her massive platform better than she does. WH has largely steered clear of the real issues in the gender debate. She could still meet BBC impartiality rules by inviting people like Indi Willoughby or Shon Faye or Lily Madigan to represent the trans activists. And peak trans more people. "Shon what did you mean by tweeting 'enjoy ur erasure?'"

And when Jenni says one of her favourite younger feminists is Laurie Penney then that does make you question how much of a handle she has on this whole thing.

It's past the time for prominent influential people to speak out. Women who really do depend on their jobs are risking their livelihood by standing up to this nonsense. If they can do it and Janice Turner can do it, so can Jenni.
