I thought it might be helpful for any lurking journalists, or folk who don't know what's going on, to see a thread detailing threats made against GC women. Twitter etc. Anyone got any screenshots?

I know some of these posts are by actual adults. I would suspect they are mainly teenage tosspots but it is vile. And yes. I wish I could show their mums the way they think it's okay to behave.

Well we are Mumsnet....maybe that's why the folk spouting the vile threats of harm want to "erase" us. Scared their mums might see what they write online.

I'm just an ordinary mum. And I can't believe the stuff I see. This is probably my saddest screenshot. A transwoman saying chill basically. She's got her opinions and the TAs turn on her like a shot. With a massive dollop of sexism to boot. Grrrrr

And it's just occurred to me. Your initial screenshot BB, the one attacking Julia long. I listened to that programme and I actually thought the male presenter was pretty rude. He dismissed trans people twice as essentially just being Trans on days of the week that they fancy. Where was the hate directed to him eh? No save it for women. "Angry women"

On twitter today, a website called the Daily Dot posted the following:

And were inundated with examples of violent threats and rhetoric from TRAs to women. Including one of the TRAs the article painted as a poor victim.

Is it me or do the really nasty threatening ones generally come from ones with user pics of men trying to look like cutesy pouting girls or comic/manta characters or fluttery pretty rainbows? All so image conscious.
