Just watched this.

Frustrating that the dr kept referring to gender instead of sex and bringing religion into it. Was hoping he might be more of a Lord Robert Winston type, just fixed on the science.

Also frustrating that Ruth and Eamon played devil's advocate to say the world has changed, inferring that the dr is a luddite.

I liked the dr's warning sex and gender education in schools. It may stir some parents.

This may have been pitched

Does anybody know if Munroe had their surgery on the NHS?

TheBiologicalWoman · 17/07/2018 20:47

This may have been pitched as Bible bashing doctor is an outdated bigot by wide eyed researchers. Unfortunately, he did little to change the agenda, which is what irks the most.

Ereshkigal · 17/07/2018 20:52

They so rarely give anyone a platform who can adequately challenge.

I think PhilipScofield made a similar point last week when interviewing IW

FloralBunting · 17/07/2018 22:51

I find the repeated insistence that the current date has anything to do with evidence based biological fact absolutely bonkers.

SirVixofVixHall · 18/07/2018 11:24

@TheBiologicalWoman Agree.

HelsinkiMan · 18/07/2018 11:31

The This morning poll shows 60% agree with the Dr, that is misleading.

cf interview in Liverpool Echo February 2016:

"What it's like to be Transgender and Catholic
Tara Hewitt, NHS equality and diversity advisor, doesn't believe in abortion or IVF but says it doesn't affect her job

(extract)
A transgender woman who converted to Catholicism speaks out about her beliefs and how it doesn’t affect her role in the NHS.

Tara Hewitt, 30, who works in the Wirral as the boroughs’s equality and diversity advisor said she is pro-life but ‘doesn’t force those views on others.’

She said:“I don’t believe in terminating life... Life starts at conception and then if you terminate life after that then you’re ending a life.

“That’s my view, I can’t have children, I don’t judge people for making their decisions – I have friends who have had abortions.” (continues)

Talking of Hampstead Ladies Pond, there was an item on the local London morning news on the Beeb earlier. They touched on, but did not directly mention the Man Friday protest at the men's pond but THEY INTERVIEWED A REAL, LIVE LESBIAN for her views on the subject. It was mere seconds of an insert but at least from what I saw they didn't trivialise or mis-report, so it's a start
