Trumps Abuse of Female Leaders

womanformallyknownaswoman · 13/07/2018 09:32

Anyone else noticed Trump outing his abusive behaviours by his character smearing of Merkel and May plus inciting a mob by undermining their competence to lead. Reminiscent of his stalking and harassment of Clinton.

His interactions with men are different - whilst his dominance behaviours are there, he's keeps them in check somewhat and doesn't launch the overt personal attacks on their leadership capability.

How can we prevent bullies like him from being put forward for election when their behaviours demonstrate male violence toward women?

By getting involved at grass roots level. Joining parties, becoming delegates, sitting on selection panels.

It’s a long term, time heavy strategy but one that needs to be done.

Just watching the Trump baby balloon. Reminds me of the time David Blaine was in a box over the Thames and someone flew a remote controlled plane loaded with burgers around him.

I’m not always proud of being British, but when I am, it’s due to stuff like this.

YY - I love that Colonel Blimp Baby Trump - he's very pissed about it being allowed hence his spats I reckon - he expects his "women" to protect him from all that stuff!!

I agree but I can't find any political parties to join - we so desperately need one or use our mass votes strategically to only vote for candidates who are GC.

Also keep on MNing!
There are untold lurkers on here and posters with energy and influence so if we all post about this stuff it will gather momentum.
I am so horrified to see that child-abusing family seperator racist sexist Trump being welcomed on to British soil. I am not surprised he behaves so disrespectfully to female leaders but I hope we can all chip away at the political culture that enables and tolerates his kind of views.

Feeling like we have no home is horrible, luckily I’m far enough in the boonies that there is little real world influence via the brocialists so I shall be clinging on and working away at the bottom rank for the foreseeable, although I understand that this isn’t an option for everyone.

Bowlofbabelfish · 13/07/2018 15:48

I wonder if Teresa May is smiling politely and imagining how awful it'd be if she accidentally trod on his tiny foot with one of her fabulous spiky shoes...

I think I’d want a shower after even being in the same room as him.

The Blaine burger thing - oh that was funny. We British do not take well to pomposity do we? Grin

Am I the only one who's waiting for some ill-judged tweet about the Queen?

LookTwoFingers · 13/07/2018 19:14

The royal family were all too busy to take tea with Trump and the Queen.

Plenty of women marching again at him. I saw nothing about grabbing a pussy on any poster in the press coverage.

Article in the Independent about this.

Has he gone back yet?? :)

Thought he was in Scotland playing golf (the real reason he’s here)?

As my DH said, it’s the most expensive golfing trip in the history of the game!

BaronessBlonde · 14/07/2018 10:53

Oh OP I wondered if anyone else had clocked it.

I cringe every time I see a photo of Trump holding Prime Minister May's hand.
How infantilising...yes, yeah I know, it could be chivalry, helping her up steps ,along a slope etc etc.
But he hasn't held Dr Merkel's hand...has he?

Anyone woman who has experienced personal abuse recognises his type. He's a bully...pure and simple.
And bullies rely on bystanders not getting involved, so that their plan will work.

So it behoves all of us, to not stand by. Even a small defiance is better than inertia.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 14/07/2018 10:56

Trump’s lack of respect is shown not only towards female leaders but any leaders who qualify as not ‘one of us’ from his perspective, e.g. Sadiq Khan.

But, yes, I was squirming on Theresa May’s behalf watching his graceless treatment of her and her stoic smiles in response. I think for her own sanity she’ll need to be allowed to be the one to ceremoniously deflate Donald blimp – if the Queen doesn’t get in there with a request to do so first!

BettyDuMonde · 14/07/2018 10:58

I like to imagine the queen doing it with the pointy end of one of those see-through umbrellas she uses on a rainy public engagement.

I think he’s just a bully in general. Sadiq Khan gets unfairly hassled by him (and I’m not a fan of Khan but he doesn’t deserve it), and he’s very dismissive of Trudeau as well it seems.

Yes I agree - it was the way he character smears and undermines the women where there seemed to be an escalation - so with the guys he accuses of them all sorts of things but stops short of suggesting a replacement but with the women he trashes what they have worked hard on and must in some ways treasure politically (Brexit in UK & Power supplies in Germany), then suggests a man could do better, suggests who and then belittles and dismisses them and their work - both in body and verbal language. I see a difference in the way he talks down to May & Merkel than to the men.
