‘Get the L out’ have just released a video of their protest at Pride on Saturday. Wow those women are brave!

It is and yes they are.

Floorplan · 11/07/2018 09:11

Their timing was literally impeccable - a second or two either way with starting their protest, and it could have gone very differently, they could have been cast aside by the marshalls and their activity never brought to anyone's attention.

I was so in awe of them when I saw footage last night. I particularly liked the way one of the protestors engaged with members of the crowd along the way. Some seemed to be lesbians previosly unaware of the situation. They must have made a lot of people think.

They are inspiring too, it shows what can be done by a small group of women.

Tackytriceratops · 11/07/2018 09:12

Gosh very brave. I like the fact so many people seemed astounded that a lesbian would be shamed for only preferring natal women.

Also, mn posts are coming up when I searched for "get the l out". Thread Titles are important, keep it up.

TheBiologicalWoman · 11/07/2018 09:13

So proud of these women right now.

Tackytriceratops · 11/07/2018 09:13

Perhaps this thread title could be changed? I couldn't find the video. The thread would come up though.

TheBiologicalWoman · 11/07/2018 09:16

I thought it was brave of the one who called out the trans activist for what he was "this man..." in front of his aggressive face.

To confront this so peacefully when others are baying for blood shows real mettle.

LangCleg · 11/07/2018 09:20

Correct headline for this would have been:

LESBIAN CAMPAIGNERS FOR HOMOSEXUAL RIGHTS DISRUPT CORPORATE JOLLY

I love these women. Sheroes.

LangCleg · 11/07/2018 09:21

(I mean BBC headline.)

ToeToToe · 11/07/2018 09:22

Brave women - staging a peaceful demonstration. This is activism. Activism that the get's the message across - which is why the TRAs are so furious about it, of course.

I'm in awe of those women.

EmotionallyFemale · 11/07/2018 09:23

So brave. 😍

Typeractive · 11/07/2018 10:00

It was brilliantly conceived and executed. I think they'll have peaked many people.

We could do with plotting a few more large scale awareness raising events, but it's difficult to imagine what could be more prominent than this. They led Pride! Whoo hoo!

RunOfTheMill · 11/07/2018 10:04

Women with few resources achieving their goal peacefully.

You have support from the heterosexual community, nobody should have to take a partner they don't want to.

NotBadConsidering · 11/07/2018 10:31

It's a brilliant video. Very brave. And very clear what they are protesting. Not "anti-trans" but protection of lesbians. I love the bit where they lie on the floor and are laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of the situation. Grin

And a special mention for the quote "Sleep with someone with a dick? Why would I, I'm a lesbian?!" from one of the crowd.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 11/07/2018 10:36

That's fantastic!
My favourite bit was right at the beginning when the purple Tshirt event manager looked utterly terrified of them Grin

Bejazzled · 11/07/2018 10:39

Getting their (correct) message across without resorting to cyber and actual bullying or trying to make speaking the truth a hate crime.

Could teach some men a thing or two eh?

pearlkent · 11/07/2018 10:53

I can't understand why this protest is not being reported correctly (if at all) in the general mainstream media.
Last night I was (half) listening to BBC Radio London just before 7pm - had just switched the TV on to catch the beginning of the Belgium-France match, so couldn't hear the radio properly.
The radio presenter (Eddie Nestor) was doing the handover to the next presenter (Jason Rosam, who is a gay man), and EN asked JR if he'd enjoyed Pride, and that he'd heard there was a bit of trouble with a lesbian protest, so what was that all about? I didn't hear the full reply but JR definitely said it was a group of lesbians who "don't like transwomen", but it was OK because the organisers of Pride had issued an apology for the lesbians' behaviour and it wouldn't happen again. I was furious with the misreporting, but I need to listen again, as it was probably even worse the what I actually heard.
It made me so depressed.
