Question about GRA consultation document

I am a long time lurker on this board and have a question that has been puzzling me for a couple of days. Paragraph 101 of the consultation document states that the EA 2010 defines sex as a man or a woman. So, as Penny Mordaunt stated TWAW does this mean that she thinks the protected characteristic of sex in the EA already applies to trans women? Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere - I struggle with the EA and GRA!

I don't think anyone has the answer to this, and its a critical question.
Up til now we just accepted that 'sex' meant 'biological sex' because its what any reasonable person would think, and its never had an alternative definition.
Transitioning is a social contract, while biology is material reality. Up til now any conflict between the rights of different groups has been minor with no large scale rolling back of human rights for any particular group.
Any government can misuse most legislation, if they have an agenda. We just believed that would be an extreme scenario.

It will be a good point to make when you fill out the consultation.

I'm thinking that this distinction between gender and sex and the definitions of each are going to be crucial. The conflation of the two words needs to be broken.

Thank you UpstartCrow. The terms sex and gender are so muddled in the consultation document, it’s going to be a nightmare to complete!

The first question is 'Are you a transperson?'

What or who is a transperson? As an engineer in STEM with short hair, no makeup, sensible shoes, mother of 3, married to a man, do I qualify?

Surely by definition, I am non binary. So can I say 'Yes' to the question above?

Going by someone like Lily Madigan or Pippa B... It's the outward presentation that defines a person.

If we look at the inner essence, I have always been comfortable, happy even, doing stereotypically male things. And I love trousers, hate dresses. So what's the answer?

Sorry for hijacking your thread Lazyteens

I'm looking forward to seeing what others make of this.
I must admit (only having completed a few government consultations) this seems outrageously biased? The amount of propaganda clarification / advice documents attached . Are government consultation documents always like this? Does anyone know?

I filled in a few including the the domestic violence consultation and they were nothing like this.
