Wasn't sure if this had already been posted.

Well, what d'ya know... girls can do anything boys can do and boys can do anything girls can do... (except those things that are required to make babies).

Interestingly, I've just got back from my son's High school prize giving, I noticed that at least 2/3 of the award winners were girls, including all the maths and science awards. Even in this rather nice school the change in socialization of boys, where peer pressure makes it uncool to try hard with schoolwork has had a strong effect. Girls brains haven't changed but their socialization has. Incidentally, DS won the English prize cos he has been socialised by me to love books not because he had a girly brain!

the Daily Fail got something right for once

Pratchet · 27/06/2018 00:16

Such an interesting point wiggly. Feminists have tried to change male socialisation along with female. It's failed and they just resent the fact that female socialisation was changed to such an extent as to leave them in the shade. Instead of changing too, this is the backlash,

This is a bit of a derail but I personally think computer gaming and online culture is affecting boys academic performance ( I think online culture is also affecting girls but in different ways).

Lise Eliot is one of my heroes - I've been recommending her books on here since forever!

QuarksandLeptons · 27/06/2018 07:43

Yass!!Smile

Glad to see science is still being listened to

fiddlechops · 27/06/2018 07:50

I disagree with this, the female brain is impenetrable, so no one will ever know how it works!
(My husband speaking, not me)

fiddlechops I'm glad to see there is still some respect left for traditionally values and that you respect your husband enough to let him speak for you instead of being so immodest as to voice your opinion (which are ill-considered) in public.
