For a notable contrast, see the BBC's story about a "controversial" rapper being shot dead:
www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-44529367
"But his short career was plagued by allegations of domestic violence. He was facing 15 felony charges at the time of his death, including aggravated battery of a pregnant woman."
So what did people say about him?
Kanye West tweeted: "I never told you how much you inspired me when you were here."
Rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs described XXXTentacion as "one of the most interesting people I've ever met."
Footballer Daniel Sturridge, who has played for Liverpool and England, said it was a "sad day for music".
Documentary maker Louis Theroux said: "Notwithstanding personal demons, he was a huge talent & bringing a beautiful new feel to hip hop. So sad."
You get the idea. When men are violent towards women, it's because of their "personal demons". When women are victims of male violence, it's because they foolishly did something to provoke the attack - like walking home through a park.
Can't remember which rules of misogyny apply here. Probably all of them.
