Data on crime rates in Transgender Females

I am new to the feminism forum so please be kind Smile.

I feel like I have seen some data on Twitter on crime rates in transgender women being the same as crime rates for the male population but I can't find it now, is anyone able to provide me with the link? I've been having a debate with a friend about the issues around the GRA and could do with this data (if it exists and I didn't imagine in!)

Thank you!

NO idea but I am also in favour of makinng sure that any crime committed by a transgender m2f is not recorded as having been committed by a woman. Then men will be arguing that ''women'' commit rapes and murders too and any small concessions made to our greater need for safety will be argued away.

Thanks Olwen, I've reread my post and realised I may not have used the correct language when referring to m2f transgender people. I'm new to this issue but trying to educate myself and taking a very active interest in the debate!!

You want this Swedish study: journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0016885

It was a big study covering 30 years.

If I remember rightly women who transitioned offended slightly more than average for their sex post transition. Men who transitioned continued to commit crime, including sex and violent crimes, at the same rate as average men do.

Hi there!
I think a Swedish study is usually referenced:
Second, regarding any crime, male-to-females had a significantly increased risk for crime compared to female controls (aHR 6.6; 95% CI 4.1–10.8) but not compared to males (aHR 0.8; 95% CI 0.5–1.2). This indicates that they retained a male pattern regarding criminality. The same was true regarding violent crime.
