A quick scan of the DF revealed these 3 cases all in the one day - I despair:

18 months suspended sentence for multiple attacks on his partner and almost battering her to death. Words fail. How can this be the "sentence" for such serious attacks? The woman is still at risk from this charmer.

4 fucking years - wft!! You see prosecutors and police won't bring a prosecution for rape within marriage - they just refuse - Evan Stark said it was one of the greatest inhibitors to rape prosecution rates, never mind conviction rates. So instead of going for rape they have gone for coercive control - a good law but under-prosecuted. I keep saying the justice system is not fit for purpose for prosecuting crimes against women and children - it was never designed for that so like the first motor cars, why do we think they are fit for contemporary society?
