He has been fighting long and hard for the repeal the 8th vote, and rightly so, but now he has been getting shit on Twitter for his views.

What's with the "receipts" thing? I've not seen it before tonight but a quick flick through Twitter links & I've seen several people refer to screenshots of tweets as receipts - is it an Irish thing or is it a standard Twitter thing that's just passed me by?

The thing that boggles me, well in this area there's so much competition, is the rewriting of the Repealthe8th vote as a victory for trans allies over TERFs. I know that TRAs will co-opt anything but surely that must be too much, even for them. (But it's not.)

On the positive side though, well done for @AngeloMysterioso and their 8th amendment+trans thread in AIBU. It's an instructive example of what happens when you present trans ideology to the mainstream. Women, by are large, really don't like large parts of it. There are some handmaidens, but in the thread as a whole they look well out of step. It's interesting to see that there they don't feel comfortable throwing around "transphobe" or "bigot" to shut people down.

I cannot get my head around Father Ted: The Musical. To me the telly programme was about deadpan extraordinary sentences.

Having now just looked at twitter, one thing that strikes me is how many tweets, while not expressing a desire to commit violence against Linehan, express hope that he will come to (damaging) harm. Surely an ideology like that so filled with animus* won't prevail? (That's rhetorical, I'm happy to believe in a fluffy world of good people.)
