I don't know much about Magdalen Burns. The first I heard of her was at Venice's meeting ? Bristol but may have been Oxford which I watched online where everyone seemed to like her but she seemed drunk.

OK, I thought I'd heard she had an illness but when I googled her a couple of weeks ago nothing came up about it.. That explains the grogginess. They were passing a bottle of wine around and I thought that as she was in the audience and not expecting to speak she'd just been enjoying her evening.
Sorry it wasn't just alcohol.
There's also Venice and Debbie Hayton. I'm not clear what the sexuality of some prominent feminists is though. Was discussing this with my son today who said a lesbian friend of his wasn't going to Glasgow pride because 1. it's a commercial event they charge people to march. 2. She didn't feel her sexuality was the most important thing about her and didn't want to feel defined by it. Maybe now potential lesbians are being pushed down the trans path lesbians should be more prominent.

Julie Bindel might win. I hope so.

Yes Magdalen has had a brain op and isn't well.

But, she's also a young woman, not long out of uni, who was in a bar with several friends, with a drink in her hand when she was on the mic.

I think it's very sweet that people are trying to make excuses for her, but come on people, a dose of reality please. Even people who've had brain ops can get drunk when in a bar!!

So, yes, she was half-cut, but even when trollied she made great points - better than I would sober!

Watch the video she made with Posie Parker the very next morning - totally coherent - also both (awesome!) women admit to feeling more than a little worse for wear after the night before...
