I thought it was getting quite educational - crumpets, bees, toast, hornets, newts...

And thanks AsAProfessionalFekko for letting me know it was deleted. I was searching, but couldn't remember what it was called.

I would have loved to learn about crumpet bees!Envy

See MNHQ, it was educational!

SuburbanRhonda · 22/04/2018 17:58

“Put the jar in a bowl of hot water for about 15 mins to warm it up. Should sort it out.”

Who the hell has time for this in the 21st century?

Women do, as we are brilliant at multi-tasking Smile

BeUpStanding · 22/04/2018 17:59

I got the impression he was at home powdering his nose - the rampant egotism seemed to increase as the night wore on.

Another thing the thread bought to light is the 'Spring turd harvest' that people with dogs in cold countries have to do, when the snow thaws and you have to pick up a winter's load of dog poo from across your garden.

But as this isn't a TAAT, I'll go back to bees...

Has anyone read Honeybee Democracy? It's an amazing book about how bees in a swarm are using consensus decision making to decide the location of their next hive.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 22/04/2018 18:42

I think I just invented crumpet bees but they do sound delightful.

There are a couple of Queen Bee crumpet cafes in Seattle, apparently 'The Queen Bee is dedicated to all strong, resourceful mothers and nurturing women. '

Sounds like our kind of place.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 22/04/2018 18:50

crumpwich anyone?

OP posts:
doctorcuntybollocks · 22/04/2018 18:52

Crumpet bees use crumpets as hives, the holes in the crumpet being used in the same way as the cells in honeycomb.

Also sloths hatch from coconuts.

Xenophile · 22/04/2018 18:55

I've never been more cross about a thread being pulled.

The OP getting all hoity toity about the wimmin not answering his beautifully crafted, hand tooled, leather bound destruction of feminism (we're all jelly cos we're ugleh) and having educational discussions about tea and bees, was possibly the funniest thing ever.

Now... crumpet bees?

AsAProfessionalFekko · 22/04/2018 18:56

Ohhhhhh. You live and learn. I thought baby sloths came from mummy Fekkos?

OP posts:
doctorcuntybollocks · 22/04/2018 18:57

Nope: coconuts is sloth eggs.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 22/04/2018 19:03

I have to disagree - I'm looking at the sloth right now...

FFS. (Fish Finger Sandwich) - even better if it's actually a Waitrose breaded plaice fillet instead of FFs.

NannyOggsKnickers · 22/04/2018 19:11

UpstartCrow

DH has urged me to post to tell you that wasp make wasp honey aka Marmite.

He has it on porridge instead of what he refers to a bee honey. Boak. Shock

AsAProfessionalFekko · 22/04/2018 19:15

Honey is bee boak?

He came to mansplain the ways in which equality is bad for women like the one he saw on TV once.
He did not understand why the women would not discuss his very important facts with him but therefore he wins by default.
Meanwhile you were all brilliant and I adorable you.

UpstartCrow · 22/04/2018 19:25

NannyOggsKnickers Tell your DP I have it on good authority that Japanese Hornets make Marmite.

NannyOggsKnickers · 22/04/2018 19:32

UpstartCrow He’s not going for it. He maintains it’s wasps. He did point out that Japanese Hornets make wasabi.

Ofspartacus · 22/04/2018 19:32

Dagnamit!

Having clearly started something with the crumpet comment I been offline for a couple of hours and now I will never know the scintillating heights that the subsequent bun and other assorted bread products fight reached.

At least we'll always have bees

doctorcuntybollocks · 22/04/2018 19:45

Horse flies make horseradish.

AornisHades · 22/04/2018 19:46

Place marking for later. I tried to request it was left up but it got zapped pretty sharpish :(

AornisHades · 22/04/2018 19:49

He was also better edumacated with a degree and typing speed of 100wpm. He was unable to clarify further although it did look as if it were going to be a BSc in Chemical Compounds from the University of Life.

AngryAttackKittens · 22/04/2018 19:55

So why was that thread pulled? Has the mod policy shifted from "don't be nasty to trans activists, they may threaten our advertisers" to "don't be nasty to random sexist blokes who show up to troll either"?

Not that people were being nasty, unless you interpret "nasty" to mean "not catering to the poor dear's every delusion of competency".

EasterRobin · 22/04/2018 20:00

I learnt about the turd harvest, I tried to forget the turd harvest, I finally managed to go about my day without thinking any more about the turd harvest.... And now it's a fresh reminder about the turd harvest.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/04/2018 20:01

No, threads started by 'random sexist blokes who show up to troll' have always been liable to be pulled, since way before TRAs were around.

DisturblinglyOrangeScrambleEgg · 22/04/2018 20:03

Maple syrup rules! Plus trees are more huggable than bees. True fact.

Plus, it's very important you eat it quickly, or it grows this floating mould which the internet is unhelpful about the safety of (as I discovered when I peered into the kirkland maple syrup jug in the fridge once....)

I think the thing with de-runnied hunny is you have to make sure you get all the crystals or it just starts over again. Something is tickling my mind about a bit of water being a good idea, because, as I know from fudge making, it's water content that determines whether it'll crystalise or not.

My mind was rocked by leaf-cutter bees - which I didn't even know existed until I was nearly 30 and googled why I had all these perfect cutouts on my plants, and then I found one living in a burrow in my tomatoes.
