Brexit and now the current trans stuff has made me realise that I'd got caught up in a lefty, right-on bubble when reading media etc. Also realising that places like the guardian just aren't publishing the stuff they should be and so many people appear to just toe the line (I understand why, but still).

I've already been reading the times and spectator a lot more than I used to. Do you have any other recommendations for good journalists/authors/books/podcasts - basically things that don't just say the popular thing and either go against the grain or say something interesting on a difficult topic?

Can be any topic, not just feminism - just something which really challenged you/your thinking.

Hopefully this might be useful to others too. TIA.

Do you read Private Eye? It's excellent for exposing political conflicts of interests, amongst many other things.

I realise that I too used to be in a leftie safe bubble. I'm appalled by the utter bias and lies printed by the Guardian. It's the left version of the Daily Mail.

Started reading the times to....never thought that would happen.

Feminist Current does articles and podcast etc. Gender critical and anti porn.

Sure someone will be along and know more ideas.

Yes I always enjoy Private Eye but always forget to buy it - will look into a subscription.

I don’t particularly like him but I find some of Jordan Peterson’s talks/ interviews etc fascinating and very thought provoking.

I'm reading testosterone Rex by Cordelia fine atm and it is excellent.

Sapiens by Yuval Harari - I found it intensely irritating but very thought provoking too

If you want some mind boggling science radiolab is good www.radiolab.org/series/podcasts/
It takes on really complex science but breaks it down into an easily digestible bite.

If you fancy listening to an agony aunt column for queer, trans, kinky people try this. Before I became a radfem I listened religiously. It's good at humanizing many weird sexual practices and people. Just don't listen to it when your kids/work colleagues are around!

Thinking aloud is a brilliant Radio4 show. Very academic take on popular issues.

This is a podcast about statistics. It breaks down the data behind statistics and helps you to analyse them - I know it sounds boring but it's not trust me!
